No. It comes as standard with the M Sport or Individual packages, but neither of these is available (yet) in the US. In Europe we can also specify the headliner and/or the M wheel as a separate option (i.e. without the M Sport package), which is what I did.

I'm going to move to Europe then

I have the Black interior with the anthracite headliner in my X5 and I love it. I will miss that in the new car.

Does that car have sport package, or can you order sport package wheels seperately? very nice btw

Europe is cool, you can mix and match almost anything (incl choice of wheels, seats, trims etc) Paul's build sheet may be a mile long.... A truly custome built/ordered car

i think you did the right thing:
(1) the dark headliner is a must for lemon.
(2) the M wheel is not that much more money than the sport wheel.

(1) Yes, it seemed like an outrageous indulgence at the time, when I had already spent a small fortune on the car itself, but I'm glad I got it now. Not only is it the 'right colour' for lemon, but the cloth itself is also of a slightly better quality than the standard grey (but unfortunately not the superb alcantara they put in the M5 & M6 )

(2) Agreed. Mine cost €70 extra. I knew I would regret it if I didn't get it.

Yes, we are lucky in that respect, though I'm not sure this mix & match policy has been adopted in every country here. In the UK, for instance, I believe the Sport Pack - which I have - comes with the sports suspension, which I definitely didn't want on top of the 18" wheels + RFTs!

The build sheet was indeed long and I modified it five times during the three-month wait. Mainly - it has to be said - because of all the photos & advice I found on this amazing forum. If I had had to rely on the manufacturer's brochure, with pages & pages of cross-sections of engines (wow, that's really useful, BMW!), I would have ended up with a much 'simpler' car.

We are referring to the 'ceiling' above your head: usually light grey, unless you pay extra for anthracite

hello, lol is sport package an option there, or are things seperate, I didn't know if your car was ordered with sport package or you can choose the 330 wheels as a stand alone option

The exact 'rules' vary from one country to another. In France, where I live, you can order the Sport Pack (big wheels, xenons, etc.) without the sports suspension (I was real lucky there!). You can also order the 162 wheels on any e90 here, even the basic 318d/318i. However, they are very expensive at the bottom of the range and become 'cheaper' as you move up.

I believe they're always grey, unless you pay extra (or get the M Pack), but every country is different. It would be best to check on your national configurator.

Oh ok cool, so you ordered without sport package but got 162's, we can't do that

ashenc: That's right...BMW NA groups some options up into packages e.g. ZSP, ZCW, ZPP and so on...for our convenience

In markets like the UK, the elements of ZSP are stand alone options like sports suspension and 162 wheels...so deciding on your options/specs is an altogether more involving process (albeit fun). Just ask Paul how he came to finalize on his final specs

For fun, check out www.bmw.co.uk car configurator if you haven't already...loads of different options

Lol. Yes, I was going mildly insane by the end (e.g. worrying about the wrinkles on the M wheel ), but it was worth it and now I have a car I am going to enjoy for many years. Thanks all

Very nice car Paul. Congratulations! I really like the lemon interior. I have grey myself.

I just hit 1212 on my odometer today.

Guess what I'm gonna do? Have fun breaking yours in.

Grey on SG - very nice choice!

OK, so you've followed the rule book and done the break-in, now go thrash her like a ginger stepchild
