Still short on gas supplies

I had to go to 5 different gas stations yesterday to fill up. I was under the impression the Colonial pipeline fiasco and the aftermath was in the distant past but there are still shortages around ATL area it seems. I was kind've pissed actually and no I don't want a fvcking Tesla.

There is no shortage in my area, but I thought this was funny. Yes, I have an EV.

The pipeline fiasco brought up the other issue that wasn't front and center. Lack of truck drivers. Fuel still has to be transported from the depots to the gas stations.

The panic buyers are what made the shortage 100x worse, and it will take longer for stuff to get back to normal.

This is the problem across the board for all industries where any transport is involved...

Idiots instilled Electronic logbooks 2 years ago and many drivers left... then they were quite underpaid and here we are.

The restaurant and lower wage worker shortage is also very very real and unfortunately this is the result of many years of self harm due to poor policy.

Gotcha. Yeah coincidentally it was a local Kroger and they too were completely stocked up on all grades of gas but there was only one other customer there. As I drove by and saw there were basically no cars at the pumps I figured they were out as well only to discover they were fine.

My dad was a very independent person and prolific fabricator of a wide variety of things, including building his own sports car. When he moved to a rural area in the mid 70's (all electric home), his dream was to capture the methane gas from his septic tank and other yard sources to power his homebuilt car.
