Rubber boot on ball joint is twisted

Had new front control/thrust arms installed recently and noticed that the rubber boot on the ball joint is twisted up. This doesn't seem normal - is it correctable?

Not normal. Boot could fail prematurely.

Not normal, looks like it might have been over tightened… caused it to move. Whom ever installed it should know they wrong for giving you your vehicle like this! 😒

My guess is over-tightened as well and I would also ask them did they tighten with pre-load (wheels on ground or preload on suspension when on lift)

I think the pre-load (on the wheels) is more of an issue with the bolt thru the bushing, not the nut on the ball joint. To properly tighten these ball joint nuts you need to put a jack under the ball itself to top it from twisting, looks to me like whoever installed these neglected this step.

Agreed. That is more what I meant (as that is where I would put the jack stand) You articulated it better!

I’m taking it in to have them look at it. Is it correctable (loosen/re tighten to proper spec?)

Those nuts are single-use only IIRC, have them replace it if they take it off.
