Will BMW F15 M Sport Bumper fit non M-Sport X5?
Hello all. I recently purchased a 2016 X5! (Woot woot ) My car shown below!
I'm looking to start getting into mods and one of the first things I'm looking to do is an M Sport bumper conversion so I can run quad tips and look a lot more aggressive in the rear. I searched but did not see any information on this subject matter, please advise! Will a rear bumper from an M sport F15 properly fit onto an base model X5? Let's hear it!!! |

I would recommend doing a little bit of research in the parts database. Check to see if the mounting parts have the same part nbrs for each type of rear bumper.
For example...this is the diagram and link to the part nbr index for the regular rear bumper for the f15 X5 35i: ...and this is the diagram and link to the part nbr index for the f15 X5 35i "M" rear bumper for the f15 X5 35i:

I wouldnt bother with them.
OP, just enjoy your car and trade in later for something that already has msport. Its too much hassle and $$$ wasting time to convert them |

Find a set the correct color from a wrecked car to save $. Probably easier than swapping to black headliner.....

Rear bumper is a direct fit. Front bumper is also a direct fit, but you will need to also swap 2 side air ducts, 1 central air duct and 2 parking sensors. Hardest part is finding same color slightly used in excellent condition oem bumpers. If you can find that - then do it. IMHO buying new and painting it will cost an arm and a leg - it’s basically not worth it.

Hey im looking to do the conversion i found this kit on Ebay. I spoke with the seller and they said it doesn't fit my car which is a 2015 x5 35i . Dush said that the m sport is a direct fit . Would this work for what im looking for although the vendor says it doesn't ?
Heres a picture of the kit :[IMG][/IMG] My car : |

But you'll never know till you actually try it. Did the retrofit the hard way..with OEM used bumpers as well as bought the whole support set for both ends. Have had good experiences w/aftermarket, so I'd say go for it. Last edited by menelaos; 04-17-2019 at 05:54 AM.. |

i dont think the price is too expensive. i have a guy who will paint and install for about 450-500. I just want to make sure it fits. The vendor says that the kit is meant for an m sport f15 and its not compatible with my car. As ive seen in the forum they say m sport is a direct fit and this kit is meant for m sport. |

I just bought my 2018 X5 4 weeks ago...there were no new MSports anywhere. If there were one, I'd be driving one.
I'm tuning, dropping, dechromed, and some other minor mods. then I'll be doing the MSport front and sides. I have the rectangular exhaust already so can skip the back. I've been looking too...and saw that kit as well. I also found a ton of used M fronts - so if I find one in good enough condition it should be just a paint and install. I have dark graphite - which was not available in Msport to begin with. So no matter what direction I go i have to paint. If that kit fits, 1900 is not a bad price. I paid a TON more for body parts for my other brands of cars. I care more about fit and finish and ease of installation than I do about the price. Last edited by parkstr8; 04-18-2019 at 02:14 PM.. |
