What is average tire tread life expected for 20" and 21" tires?

Since the F85/F86 are so new, I don't think many of us put enough miles on it yet to tell. Just to put it into perspective, a set of MPSS lasted about 12k miles on my last F80 M3. For the X5M/X6M, I would think they last around 12k miles per set.

If that is the case I should be due for a new set around my next scheduled service.

When I took my summers off, and put my winters on, I had roughly 7500 miles on the clock. My summers are worn about halfway to the wear indicators, so I am thinking I should get 14-15k miles out of a set of the MPSS summers. Hope this helps give you an idea of what the wear is like.

I have now 23 000 km (15000 miles) and my tires still look good.
I think I'll be able to make still 10 000 km easy with those tires.

Good to know, better than I expected. My F80 M3 rear MPSS lasted 12k miles, it was almost bald. I assume you don't do AWD burnouts very often.

I have 12,000 miles on my 2014 X6M with the 20" Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport tires and they still have maybe 1-2,000 miles left until they are completely used up. I tend to drive pretty hard so I'm surprised they lasted that long.

Ahah nope !

I do drive often wide open throttle , but no burnout.

That's great news. I'd love it if I could get that much mileage out of my set, but with my current wear, I don't expect it. I did notice that after relocating to Cape Cod a couple years ago, from our home in Pennsylvania, tire wear increased for all of our vehicles. The quality of the roads on Cape Cod is significantly worse than where we were in PA. Would you say the roads in Belgium are significantly nicer than the roads in the USA?

Based on the P-Zeros I had on my X3- I'd be pleased if the rears on my X5M lasted 15,000 miles.

It is going to depend on how you drive. I have replaced the tears on my M5 twice now. 7,500 miles per set.

My fronts got changed at 4000miles, apparently it was a roadworthy issue though.. still looked ok to me. The cost of tire replacement is making me hesitant to do track days in it..

My mpss on my M4 did not last 8000 miles. But I drive like an asshole with MDM mode all the time.

Belgium has the worst roads in Europe !

Ok , the power isn't the same , but on my previous X5 E70 I kept my tires until 55 000 km (34.200 miles) !

If the wear is around 15k it's kinda suck for us lease buyers, that means I have to replace two times during 30k miles ownership, and second time I basically replacing it for returning it and next buyer gets a brand new set of tires :/

Maybe you've got some magic touch with tires ;-) On my previous E70, I was lucky to get 12k miles out of the 20" run-flat summer performance tires. I felt that vehicle ate tires worse than the F85.

That's crazy when you know how much I did with mine. (20" runflat Bridgestone Dueller-summer tires).


Maybe the geometry isn't good on your cars ?

No, my toe, camber, and all that fun stuff was just as it should have been, I checked into it. Talking to lots of other E70 owners, over the time I had that vehicle, I was getting around average wear for my tires. Some people would get 10k, some got as much as 15k, but the average was around 12k. The tires my E70 came with, and I replaced the same with, were Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires. Tire wear was a hot topic on the forum I was active in for the E70.

i have the X5 50i...my runflats lasted barely 9,000 miles....
my MPSS have about 6,000 miles on them...no way they go all the way to 12,000.

i wont be suprised if my michelin PSS tires wear out before 10,000. i drive very very hard 99% of the time. like i should be in jail already...knock on wood

It would be just a chirp, unless you're on a wet surface or snow.

Need at least 800WhP/TQ to do an AWD on dry road.
