X6M - Modified Stock Exhaust

Hey guys I've been watching videos and spending time just doing some research/watching Youtube videos about exhaust and resonator deletion. After all that research I came up with my own solution. I think I might be the first one to do this, don't know.

Instead of spending a couple thousand dollars buying a cat back. I modified the stock exhaust through a body shop. They cut it and modified the inside (roughly $2000-$7000) but really cost me $500. I'm like most people that thoroughly enjoy the original stock sound but just wanted it to be 20% louder.

Here's the break-down:

I went to the exhaust shop, the guy was pretty knowledgeable and convincing so I let him do his thing. Took him 5 hours and $500. Didn't know the outcome or how it would sound but after first starting the car it sounded pretty damn good. Just a bit louder than before.

I also decided to add the H-pipe versus the X-pipe because of the early RPM's and help eliminate the rasp and deep sound. X-pipe is more for top-end speed. Both of them add 1-2HP. I'm not after HP so it's more beneficial to use the H-pipe and made more sense to me because I do a lot of city stop-n-go's. To each their own.

Inside of the cabin: It sounds like stock with the sport mode on. NO droning at all within the 1200-1700RPM. On efficient mode, it sounds completely normal. On sport mode/sport+ when hitting the gas it is much louder and more aggressive than before but not too loud to the point of irritation. On the downshift the burble is much more pronounced with the BM3 Tune.

Nothing wrong with spending money on a newer cat-back, though.

See for yourself and let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Discretion: Video does not project actual sounds. Sounds much better in person.

Stock Cat-back open. As you guys can see it has 2 half perforated pipe on both sides.

As a 16 y/o , friends and I would take moms and dads ride to drags on a Saturday. Mods were cast iron fence posts and caps welded into exhaust system ( poor mans lake pipes)ice or dry ice ( $ dependant) nestled into intake manifold, obviously no air cleaner ( nice Hoover sound). Occasionally a "tune" ( jack the timing & go up a jet size or two. God, why am I admitting this?
