Warning Codes on 50i

Hi All. I had to tear apart my center console and passenger seat to do a thorough cleaning after something was spilled. In doing this I unplugged the I-drive, parking brake and driving mode connectors. For removing the seat, I first disconnected the neg. terminal connectors on the two batteries, then unplugged the 1 main seat connector. I put everything back to normal, now I have a bunch are warnings:
- Chassis stablization: Drive moderately
- Chassis: Contin. driving possible
- Collision Warning System malfunction
- Pedestrian detection system malfunction
- Pedestrian Warning limited

And, my turn signal does not turn off automatically anymore after turning.

Obviously I could take it in, but hoping there is a DIY fix, since it was operating fine before I messed with the connectors and disconnected the batteries.

Check if all cables are back in place, then erase the codes with ista or your preferred tool.

Double checked all connectors. On off cycling clears the warnings, but they pop right back 10 sec. after engine start. I saw someone else with similar issues after battery disconnect. Any other ideas?

On the previous gen, turning steering all the way left, then all the way right and repeat would clear some errors. Try that.

Another worry is that used my steam cleaner on the passenger side carpet and thoroughly soaked the carpet, so maybe there are some electronics under the carpet I got wet?

The steering angle sensor needs to be recalibrated. It loses calibration quite often upon battery disconnection.
You need ISTA+ and ENET cable to do it, otherwise take it to the dealer.

Have you tried a simple google search...try typing Rheingold/ISTA-D into a google search box and see what you get.

I agree with drive it for a bit first and see.

Otherwise check your fuses, especially the ones in the center lower position of the BCM in the passenger kick panel.

So, I was able to get ISTA+ installed, now reading the fault codes and there are a lot of them. Pretty tedious to go through every step in each fault test plan. Do your think there is any harm by just deleting the entire fault memory?

No harm. But do recalibrate the steering angle sensor and then you will se no mot faults will be there.

Got it all sorted out and it was mostly the steering recalibration needed. There is a bit of a learning curve on ISTA+, but just kept playing around with it to figure it all out. Thanks for the advice CatalinP.

Screenshot of all the codes before I started. All clear now,

Same thing happened to my m50d, after disconnecting the battery negative terminal. Same errors as NeroX had. Recalibrating the steering angle sensor fixed the ALL? Is the steering sensor linked to pedestrian warning system ?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, you will need to jack up front wheels to calibrate.
