FZD need programming

So I think I have an issue with the roof control unit when using the sunroof. Been through multiple rear sunroof motors but recently discovered that when thinking the motor was bad I was going to test the module harness for voltage and the sunroof started working again. My question is does the sunroof module need to be programmed to the vehicle if I get a used one off eBay to confirm my suspicions? If so we I need Esys or will ISTA+ do the job? Not find much info when searching. Thanks in advance.

As far as I recall you need to code it to your car using Esys. I was retrofitting alarm, so I had to replace sunroof module. Ass started to work after recoding this module.
