x5 35d split a/c not working

Hi-
I've searched around but can't seem to find a good thread on a problem with my 2014. Maybe I'm describing it wrong.... The left (driver) side of the air conditioning system doesn't seem to be working. Vents are definitely open, I've tried it in Auto and Manual, sync, max etc. Right side is blowing cold air (and seems to be trying hard to put out enough air --probably to cool the whole car). But nothings coming out of the left--haven't tried the heater (it's 95 degrees). I can probably make it through the end of the summer, or I can just run it with right side working harder. But at some point I'll need to get it repaired. Any ideas on this? I have noticed it at times doing intermittent increases of flow..... not really roaring, but a large, irregular, quick increase in output. Thank you!
