I thought I was taking straight pictures but, oh well, they are all kinda crooked.

They give an idea about the size difference between 3.5 inch dual and 4" dual tips.

The 4" inch is 8 3/4" in total width including the gap. The 3.5" is 7 1/4" in total width including the gap.
Thanks for posting these!

Hufington, are you an engineer? I like they way you think. I actually did the same and made cardboard cutouts to visualize how large the outlet of my tips would be. 4" looked good but 4.5" filled out my rear valence better. I went with the 4.5" and I'm glad I did. I'll be looking forward to pics once you get this finished.

Now I'm debating on changing my order to go 4" again. I think 3.5" are going to look fine, but 4" just seems perfect

Yeah I agree. If you install the 3.5" you'll always yearn for the look of the 4" or at least I would.

Only problem is if they are too tight it's gonna be hard to send em back. I should probably just stick to the 3.5" and call it a day lol

A valid point there sir! At least you know the 3.5" will fit. Less stress involved.

Well, thank you, Sir. I indeed have a degree in mechanical engineering from Stuttgart, but I am currently a management consultant.

I always try to visualize something before jumping into it. Unfortunately, I don't have a garage or tools right now, otherwise, I would have tig-welded two 4"inch steel tips with 2mm gap and staggered with a 15 degree angle onto a 5-inch long Y-pipe and then powdercoat them to manufacture the perfect fitting tip.

I do not want to install 3.5-inch tips knowing the size should be 4"; however, the reality is that the available tips in the market and the limited skilled muffler shops dictate what we do at the end.

And if you made up those tips you would have forum members asking for a set as well lol

Those look just like the ones that I bought originally. Mine weren't staggered though.

Thanks, mate. I am still waiting for the USPS to deliver my X pipe. If they can deliver today, I might get it installed tomorrow.

Finally installed the 4" quad staggered stainless steel tips. They are wet gloss black powder coated.

They look awesome on the car and completely change the rear end.

If you are planning to do the same mod, please be aware that if you purchase any dual tips that are welded to far apart from each other WILL NOT fit. the gap between the two tips must be less than 4 mm in order to fit tightly into the existing M sport bumper hole.

Also, if the dual tips are any longer than 10 inches, it will hit the aluminum heat protector in the back.

So please choose wisely after measuring several times.

I also did the muffler delete with the x-pipe and dual Vibrant resonators. Sounds freakishly good!! I will post a clip soon.
