Roof rack

Does anyone know how to disassemble the OEM roof rack ??? I would like to take the feet off to paint the bars any help would be appreciated

That aluminum is very slippery, how do you plan on getting paint to stick? I had someone paint it years ago and it started coming off quickly.

I was waiting for an expert to post, but since they haven't yet, I'll suggest what I've read. I suggest searching for more information, but this should get you started:

1. Sand the aluminum. Just enough to rough the surface.
2. Spray self-etching primer. This is like a paint base.
3. Spray your paint (or whatever coating you are using).

I did that and after a tear or so you could see damage.
