In other news the FIA ethics are under renewed focus.

Statement by Suzie Wolff on the issue with the FIA putting her under review then rescinding it.

I can confirm that I personally filed a criminal complaint in the French courts on the 4th of March in relation to the statements made about me by the FIA last December.
There has still not been any transparency or accountability in relation to the conduct of the FIA and its personnel in this matter.
I feel more than ever it is important to stand up, call out improper behaviour and make sure people are held to account.
Whilst some may think silence absolves them from responsibility - it does not.

"F1: Susie Wolff takes legal action after controversial conflict of interest inquiry"
https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/68615850

Investigators will normally interrogate FIA people to try to reconstruct what has happened and who was involved (short-lived FIA inquiry investigating whether Susie Wolff's relationship with Toto Wolff presented a conflict of interest in F1). As Susie Wolff will get access to the criminal file, she will find out what investigators discovered (including statements of interrogations of FIA people). It makes sense that she wants to know who was behind it, role, etc.

The point that Senna was one of a kind operating in a different era and that no-one mastered that particular 'throttle tapping' cornering technique the way he did. He bossed simulators.

Umm nothing weird, Senna has antilag and electronic traction control built into his foot.

In life honesty should be appreciated, I'm a big fan, though it gets me into trouble a bit too often.

In the corporate world though it appears to be not so much appreciated.
After his second go at McLaren where he mercilessly criticised Honda, he was no longer top of the list for a front running F1 seat...the feeling being that despite his massive abilities he just too much of a loose cannon
His foray into racing in the USA didn't go so well either as Honda were still grumpy with him and did their best to keep him out of any team using their engines.

Not on the same scale obviously...but back in the day I owned a few old school 2wd 911 turbos which were renown for turbo lag and chucking their owners backwards into the countryside.
If pressing on hard you had to take turns with some throttle applied but not go full throttle before you were back in a straight line.

Never tried "throttle tapping"...pretty sure I didn't have the talent to control the instability it must have caused.

"Verstappen addresses speculation over F1 future after being linked with move away from Red Bull"
F1 - March 21, 2024
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...H4SuSJueAXSyY0
"“I think there’s every reason to be happy, right?” Verstappen responded. “The car’s going really well, there’s so many great people in the team that are constantly pushing for better results, so for me that’s what I focus on.
“I focus on the performance, I’m happy, and when I go home, I don’t think about any other thing because it’s pretty fixed where I’m at also, and that’s also where I want to be.”"

Related but in an opposite, positive way. No secret that there is lots of mutual respect and appreciation between Verstappen and Honda. Do you consider it conceivable that Verstappen would follow Honda to Aston Martin (targeted by Aramco) (based in Silverstone) from 2026 onwards (cf. March 2023 deal struck between Honda and AM), knowing that Red Bull will switch from Honda to Ford/RBR Powertrains engines from 2026 onwards ? Aramco is rumored to be willing to offer Verstappen and Newey an intergalactic salary to get them on board in the near future. Mercedes is also interested to get Verstappen, but of course uses Mercedes engines and has no pockets as deep as Aramco to pay a top driver a mind-boggling salary.

Why moving when it's OK where you are (apart from the Horner situation) ? Also Hamilton made a bold move in 2013 to switch from McLaren to the less competitive Mercedes car. The 2014 'hybrid' regs and 2022 regs reshuffled the landscape. The 2026 regs may reshuffle the landscape yet again. And Verstappen achieved major F1 success with Honda engines.

Honda trivia: Prost told in a 2021 interview that during his time as team mate of Senna he had noticed someday that a new set of Honda engines flown in from Japan featured a "Special For Ayrton" message (from 19:00 onwards here). Honda was fond of Senna.

1- MAX's RB20 was turned inside out by a FIA inspection at Jeddah .
(everything was fine according to the 2024 FIA regulations)

2- The Red Bull Team got a Red-Bull-Thai-Spy-Inspector at Albert Park .
(kind of a referee Thai guy)
