I plan on installing the rear aero kit on my xline with round tips this weekend. I won't be touching the exhaust tips myself, I'll let my shop do that properly.

I'm trying to save some cash by installing the aero lip portion myself and only have the shop do the tips next week. Will my current round exhaust tips fit in the squarish opening of the new aero lip until I can get to the shop next week? Will it touch the plastic and potentially melt or warp it?

Thanks for the info

Visually, it appears that it will. It appears that the round tip diameter will fit.

Well, all you have to do is put the lip backwards right up to the exhaust tips and see if they can fit through.

Please let me know because i plan to do the same thing! Only problem is I don't have the rear lip in hand.

The finishers/tips can be tapped off.

This is very helpful! If they are a bit too wide I'll remove the tips until I can get it to the shop.

Thanks!

They will fit and then there will be enough space to play soccer still. Just keep in mind that the angle at which that rear bumper installs is a bit tight and tips will be in the way a bit, but after install is done - they won't even touch bumper - there's enough space. Please post picture when you are done. I'm thinking doing rear diffusor myself sometime in the future.
Did you went with oem or replica?

P.S. exhaust tips never get too hot to be able to warp/melt weather resistant bumper plastic

After you take the original rear bumper lower section out, it is easy to cut the pipe with sawzall. Then you just clamp the new m sport looking tips. You do not have to go to the shop and save some money for future mod.

Couldn't you have gotten 2017 rear valence from BMW instead of aero kit?

I'm actually not sure if there is a different in exhaust system from the 35i and 35d.

But to confirm. The rounds fit in no problem
