How do you control the rear climate?

Just wondering if there is a better way to control the rear climate from the drivers seat. For instance in my old E70 X5 I can use idrive setting to turn off the rear climate or to make it use drivers settings, but in the X6 I can only turn it off. Now that the weather got hot its not good to turn off rear climate, but it would also be nice to know what it is set to without having to go in the rear seat and adjusting it every time. If I have friends in the rear seat I have no idea what they adjust it to, someone could adjust it to 85 for all I know, and then I'll be blasting AC in the front and wonder why its not cooling like its supposed to.

I wish there was a way to see and control rear climate settings from the front seats.

You can also set one of those 6 (or is it 8?) preset buttons on the center dash. I have most of those buttons saved to phone numbers I call each day, but the last one I have set to Turn Rear Climate on or off. So easy. Also, if you just lightly apply some pressure to the button, but DO NOT push it...it will show you with a check mark if Rear Climate is on or off!

If your X6 is anything like the F15 X5, using Rear Climate does seem to make the already awful A/C even more awful

I think its the nature of AC in SUVs - there is just too much open area for AC to efficiently cool it down, and all the way at the top the air just remains hot.

The X5/6 is CRAP with 4 zone. Go jump in a car with 2 zone and it's fine.

I dont think all SUVs have this problem... the AC system in my Highlander is a lot better than the one in the X5.

Yes - the X5 HVAC is crap, especially if the rear seat is turned on, it can’t push out enough air in the front seat best part is the rear will turn itself on if the control is hit by something in the backseat. Usually I figure it out after sweating and shut it off again. Hope the 2019 addresses this. 90 degrees here in Minnesota and my 2018 3.5i is struggling. Weird thing is I’ve had other F15s that performed better.
