That is BS.

Quote:
ventilation of front seat and seat back
Note: perforations in leather, front, with LC Leather Dakota; perforations in leather, front and rear, with NA Leather Nappa
(without ventilation, rear)
I quoted from the X5 Features and Options Description document, which is posted here on the forum.

If you opt for Dakota Leather and Ventilated front seats, only the front seats are perforated.
If you opt for Nappa Leathers, the rear seats are also perforated.

I have perforated Nappa, and trust me, there's no Dakota to be found.

I have to say, we are going through a "heat wave" here in the northeast and the A/C performance has been less than stellar. Unlike my earlier impressions.

The temps are ranging from 90-100 + humidity for this week and all of next week and it's taking a good 15-20 minutes to get to a comfortable temperature and humidity.

I can definitely see how this would be frustrating in hotter climates and shorter drives.

I'm sorry! We were watching abc evening news last night, and the temps and humidity they were showing for New England, Chicago, NY and a lot of the plain states...OMG! With the heat index, many states were 105-108 with suffocating humidity! We are beyond awesome right now...in the 70s, humid, but not hot. By Thurs, we are forecasted for 101-105F though :-O

Where I live in So.California, we have 6 or more months of warm, very warm to HOT. My two F15s just could not keep up with the heat and cool the car. If the drive was less than 20 or 30 mins...the interior of both F15s would just stay hot and never even reach acceptably comfortable! Sorry you too!

BMW better have switched to a new Climate Control Compressor/fan motor and insulated the new G05 better than F15.

How awful, if BMW will re-use the F15 Climate Control for the G05. Car makers are known to use older, already made, "cannot see" items for all new models.

Can't imagine them doing it. They must be aware of the issues.
Drove 900+ mls yesterday, from NYC to Northern MI and had no issue with temp set at 70F, dawn to dusk.
I did feel though that the CC is not self regulating properly on the reverse trip, i.e. got colder inside, so I had to adjust the vents and raise temp to 72F.

Obviously, cabin is bigger on an SUV, as compared to my prior sedans, so I could be overstating the issue..

It is 90F and higher every day here in Houston in summer. Humid as hell. The F15 is cool as can be. Just whack the Max AC button. Doesn’t matter if rear is on or off.

I can’t say a lot for the AC seats, however. Pretty weak. I think the issue is if you are sitting in the seat no air can get out. You have to lean forward or lift your legs or whatever. They more or less keep you from sweating but that’s about it.

The reason the seats don't perform well is that they aren't AC seats. They are just ventilated. They don't actually funnel any cold air to the seats, it's just fans that blow cabin air.

Yup. Most cars are like this...my new G-Class as well.

But...Ford/Lincoln and Range Rover actually pump cooled air thru their ventilated seats and it makes a world of difference! The ventilated seats in my G63 actually blow a lot of air, you can feel it, but it is not chilled. Helps some though!

My Infiniti M37 had cooled seats and they were awesome. However, the cooling was separate from the A/C. I believe it used something similar to a peltier chip used to overclock CPUs. Anyway, the A/C in the car was phenomenal. My F15 isn’t in the same country, much less neighborhood.

I dunno, 95+ weather here in DC and X5 still provides nice cool environment. On a contrary, our GTI struggles majorly, esp. if left out in the sun for a while.
