X5 edrive 40e running without charging the high voltage battery 2016 YOM

Is it true that if the high voltage battery is not charged daily it will create issues with electrical components such as the air-conditioning compressor. Battey goes from 100% to around 5% anyways after over 2 hours drive and does only about 20 km in traffic and not 30 km as specified. So the battery want help that much anyway and electricity costs a lot to charge it every day.

How regular should the charging be? Is once a week enough?

What if I run in save battery mode and maintain 50% charge all the time?

Thanks
Kind regards,
Chaminda

I haven't heard of any issues with other electrical components and frequency of charging. The car also has a main 12V battery and a backup one as well. I will say there is quite a difference between driving the car with the battery charged (or at least some charge) and no charge at all.

I'd imagine you'd want to keep it charged or at least drive in save battery mode if you don't plan on regularly charging it by plugging it in. Even just for the driveability of the vehicle.

If you very seldom plan on plugging the car in then why did you decide on the plug-in model?

Thanks, this is the only model available and has a large import duty concession.
