21" or 22"?

Dear members,

I am still new to this forum and BMWs, i will recieve my first 2018 bmw x5 40e in 2 days.
I am not going to lower the car, and i am very unsecure which size of rims look ok on a standard X5?
Could someone please send pictures of standard X5s with 21"and 22" wheels?

You can cruise the thread on 21" wheels, plenty of pics there. That being said, no 22" OEM options on the F15. You'll have to go aftermarket.

I'd go with 22's. More tire options and cheaper. 21's for the X5 only have a few options to choose from and they're not cheap.

Thank you for your opinions, the reason for asking for pictures is that it is diffucult to know/see if the cars are lowered or not. If someone here have an x5 that is not lowered, with 22" or 21" wheels, please post some pictures.

My X6 is not lowered and I'm running on 22"s.

Not an X5, but this pic can give you an idea of what your car will look like if you decide on 22 inch wheels.

Nice. What are the wheel specs here? I am considering getting 22" but worried slightly about the offset and fitment. I have a base body type like you do.

Thanks!

21' staggered tire options are quite pricy.
I would go with 22s and non-brand tires, like Atturo or Lexani.

Thank you!

Front is 22x10.5 and rear is 22x12. Fit is awesome and no spacers needed.

Ride is MUCH better compared to the standard OEM 19" run flats that came with the car.

Thank you for your pictures, i think 21" will be good on an unlowered car. I liked your setup ptm1nh.
But please post more pictures of other setups as well, still not quite sure yet.

This is right.
You don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere while waiting for 21" tires to be available in stock or price to fit in the budget.

I almost went 21s just so I could run the Michelin Pss, which, yes we're more expensive, but are a great tire and likely not that hard to obtain if an issue arose.

22s were actually more difficult to find in a brand name, if any. And I wasn't so comfortable running the off brand tires.

Pirelli assimetrico's are still available in Canada in 22s. Or so I was told, which my wheel shop could get the same day.
The atturo tires aren't very well known here in Canada and would be a while to have them shipped in if I had a blow out.
