My X5
Here is my X5. Just got it last month. This is an old picture...just had a glass coating done here in Seoul. I will post more pictures with the latest glass coating pictures....
I am new to the forum but wanted to code some different features on my X5. I just ordered the cable. Do I need to download a program? Also, I have a MAC, does that matter? Thanks in advance for all the replies. |

Go here for coding information. You will need software and need to buy a token to make it work. It is Windows software, but people have indicated that it works with the emulator on the MAC. Since I have no experience with it, I would ask the question on that forum.

I have a Mac, also. I've got Windows on Bootcamp and just run the coding from there. It's easy to setup, but it does take quite a bit of space on your hard drive. I've setup a 100G partition for Windows, and between Windows and the software for the coding, I think I'm using about 45G-50G, so size your partition accordingly.
I have not tried doing coding through Parallels, which is more of a virtual machine solution. I don't trust VM's for this type of thing. Better to have Windows running natively and directly, IMO. There are several members who can assist you with coding yourself. I worked with Opasha, who was great at getting me going and answering my questions. I know that r33 and wdimagineer also do a lot of coding. I am also open to trying to help, but I've only been coding for a couple of weeks, so I'm not the expert that others are

Hey,
First time on the boards here, just recently purchased my X5 35D M-Sport a week ago the dealer says it will be arriving sometime at the end of October. Just a small question, I noticed you purchased the M-sport, was there any particular reason why you choose the M-sport over the Luxury line? I have made my purchase I'm wondering if the M-sport looks a bit bulky or does it look really good in person? The dealer I purchased from does not have the X5 in the M-sport Package so I couldn't get a real life view of the vehicle. Please do let me know, if you noticed something that made it stand out to much more in a positive or negative way. If anyone on the boards can share there experience and thoughts. Thanks |

@millz there are mostly cosmetic differences. I am on M Sport shortly, having returned an X Line last week after a month. They are all nice.
M Sport has some nice interior upgrades to steering and headliner, and a suspension upgrade that matches what you would get if you had third row seats. Many on this board have or are in the process of upgrading the black, solid vents to the 50d version which is open in the bottom, and also has a nice decorative trim piece/wing. Several threads on the subject already, and a forum elder who sells the kit (all BMW parts and easy to swap). More info: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1030907 . |

With the difference in cost I buy 18" rims and put on Nokian studded or studless run flats (Hakkapeliita 8 or 2) for the ski season -about 3 months of use. |

@Baunton, don't make me regret it. If I go to the dealer with a change now, they might shoot me. Just resend that post and say I did the right thing.

You are terrible. <joke ends>. Just tell me this, are they staggered or all four the same size? I don't like not being able to rotate as with one of our other cars. I end up having to change every 15-18k miles.

Its a very long story but I also have the 19" with winter rubber to swap out next month. Hopefully pictures give you a good idea - have more I can email if required! PS Apologies if I have made your decision harder for your order. |

@Baunton forget the tires, if I were to say the 19" rims look better, I'd be a liar.
