Do adaptive LED headlights have washers?

Had the car 2 weeks now and haven't seen the washers work once. I have the adaptive LED headlights. The old E70 (with Xenons) used to cover the headlights and bonnet with washer fluid if you gave the windscreen washer lever a full pull.

The recess squares are on the bonnet so I would think the washer's were connected.

Any thoughts those who've had their vehicles a little longer?

Cheers

Yes. You can hear them activate a second or two right after the windshield spray stops. Or, just have someone else pull the stalk for you while you're outside.

In the US the headlight washers are dependent on the cold weather package. The idea is that the washer sprays water on the headlights to wash the salty film from the salt drenched roads. To activate the wash, your headlights must be on regardless if it is LED or Xenons. And it happens in sequences. Not every time I'm thinking every 3 spray or something like that.

Hmm, Ill have to give it a try. I dont have the cold weather pack, hopefully they wont be activated, nothing more annoying than a freshly cleaned car coated with washer fluid!

I just ordered a 2016 yesterday and I specifically left out the headlight washer option for the reason stated above. I see no use in them and hate to spray the entire cars front end with washer fluid when I just need to clean the windshield a bit.

What I've done over the last few years, is turn off the headlights at night and then spray the windshield in order to not activate the headlight washer (since they don't activate if the headlights are not on). This was my work around but glad I was able to order without them on the X5.

It only works after dark and only after every 5-6 times you trigger it (can't remember the exact number). If you do rapid fire it will work

OR just turn your headlights ON. If the headlights are on, they will spray the first time you try. No need to wait for dark

Yep, you're right, tried it with the lights on and after about 3 full squirts the headlamp washers came on. They covered the whole bloody bonnet and side windows and that was stationary!

Cheers guys

When I ordered my car, I deleted the washers from it, mostly because is more a cold weather feature, here in Costa Rica we have no such thing, it also it boils my balls when I get all my hood sprayed with soapy water on a hot and sunny day.......
