Squeaking Sound

I tried searching the forum for an issue that has started a couple of weeks ago. When starting the X5 there is a squeaking sound coming from the fan. It only last a few seconds and disappears. I'm pretty sure its the fan during startup. Not sure if anyone else has came across a similar issue on the drivers side. Now I'm wondering if it's the steering wheel moving to the setting. The X5 is only 7months old with 7,000 km.

Our steering column def groans, more so in cold weather. I opted for the dealer to not tear it all apart just to lubricate it for fear of new rattles being introduced.

My trunk top hatch creaks when I close it... I'll probably have the dealer take a look next time I'm due for service.

My issue is actually in the steering column as it goes into position. Anyone come across that issue?

X54TH, yes. I've heard and continue to hear what I thought was a faint fan squeak on startup. And it does fade away after a short period.

It's either intermittent or I just don't hear it except on the rare occasion I've turned my radio off.

Haven't thought about it enough to mention while in for service.

Not sure what you mean about the steering column as it goes into position.

Thanks. I assumed it was the steering column because the sound could be heard through the duration of when the steering column goes into the driver's position. I'll let the dealership figure it out. It's heard every time the X5 is turned on. I was just curious if someone had the same issue and the dealership had a remedy. I do worry if the entire dash needs to be taken apart. Let's hope it's not a gruesome of a fix as that.
