to each their own but yeah I'm with you. I don't shy away from Chinese parts but not when it counts or on such a critical component.

thanks for checking it out - it's still pretty awesome and not really over it, haha. it's so much more satisfying seeing things done when you accomplished it yourself after even minor toil. in reflections of building's glass and such you can see all the work the LEDs and cut-offs are doing in different settings and angles - it's so neat.

installed the BMS instake -

super easy install.

I notice over time it is getting louder which is nice.

installed purely for aesthetics and added intake noise. may go back to OEM, not sure, yet. enjoying it for now.

forgot to mention it but earlier on I installed 612M x5M take-offs with MPSS tires. going from a 255 all around to 325 meat in the rear is a welcome addition and boy oh boy doesn't it look tops!

the silver trim around the screen was driving me mad and an eye-sore. I went to find the OEM part to see about getting it in black but the part is not sold separate of the screen which is odd as it's very easy to remove nice and easily and put back in place.

so just used the one I had and initially wrapped it in gloss black but that that didn't lay right or look right and couldn't wrap the corners for a truly discrete install as it separated the trim too far from the screen leaving a gap.

so instead painted with gloss black and clear for a true factory finish that will last.

before:

after initial coats but before clear, already a huge improvement.

i'll get some final photos tomorrow after all coats and clear.

I had my detail guy color correct the car with sonax products to fix all the factory paint issues and then ceramic coated to make this a no-wax car with effortless upkeep, rinse and shine washes, and the hydrophobic qualities with that high gloss. turned out amazing.

Any plans to dye/paint (or swap) interior to Crimson Red, maybe even X5M plush seats? Just asking, I personally like black one - can't beat that

I wouldn't do the red, just not our style but sure does look aggressive and nice with a black or carbon black exterior. I would consider the x5m seats but only if second hand and negotiated some sort of deal because those are beaucoup bucks, for sure.

Ah I see where he said it could be removed. He just didn't say that he did that to paint so I missed it. This is good to know. Maybe I'll knock this out this weekend

Cool, a detailed diy would be super helpful. Since the guy here is busy documenting much more complicated stuff.

More like how to remove the display/surround itself I suspect.

Thanks for adding the write-up. Is the sound out of the intake really that more noticeable inside and outside the X5? I was getting ready to start buying all the mods and then was told not to - I was told by family to give them a list of stuff I wanted for Xmas and 99% of the list was all mod parts for the BMW lol. Thankfully I emailed the list and they can just click link to order. Hoping I score everything on my list - if not will order after xmas. Do you feel any noticeable HP/power gains? They claim +10HP on Burger's website. I seriously doubt the dealer would give me any grief if I left on to bring in for service? I used to always disconnect my RC Ultimate on my 14 35d, but i dont feel like taking the intake off every time for service (which is why I didn't do a RC on my 35i...yet).

The car looks excellent and great choice on taking it to Raja's 👍
