X5 2016 brake pedal thumping noise

Hi can someone please let me know whether is it normal to have a thumping noise when the brake pedal is pressed few times at close intervals. When there is vacuum in the brake system the brake pedal is tight and comfortable, and after few consecutive application of brakes the pedal becomes very loose as if it is a very old vehicle and a huge thumping noise comes when pressing the brake pedal and also when releasing the brake pedal. This is poor quality for such an expensive car. In my country I paid USD 158,000 for this X5 edrive, edrive, it's a brand new car.

Thanks
Kind regards,
Chaminda

2016 can’t be brand new. There is a reason why this car of yours sat in the dealer’s backyard until now.

It was at BMW AG Munich after receiving from US Factory.

The brakes on a hybrid are unlike that of a regular car. They are used to generate electricity to charge the battery (yes, the regular x5 has some regenerative braking but not to the extent of he hybrid) and behave differently (much more "touchy" and less progressive). So, basically pumping them like you did is not recommended; you probably confused the electronics and got the reaction that you did.

This is a mechanical noise coming from inside the car as if the brake pedal is loose. After braking for the first time if I have to brake again within few seconds I get this noise from underneath the steering column near where the brake pedal is mounted to the floor of the car.
