I remember hearing this on a local MB dealer commercial "If you feel like the world is really closing in on you then the G Class is the vehicle for you" enough said

LOVE the Porsche Cayenne, but the all new one is not out yet and current inventory is very low. The Cayenne is the near perfect combo of SUV meets real sports car. I have driven several...Caynenne, S and Turbo and they are all phenomenal! |

I cannot stand the interior of the upcoming 2019 G-Class. It looks like an S-Class in an SUV. Dual digital screens totally remind me of 80s Night Rider, LOL.
I love, love the more traditional look of the current G-Class, hence the reason I jumped on a 2018. Also, all our local dealers said the first 6 months of 2019 G-Classes will have a market add on of at least $15-30K OVER sticker!! |

Quite a few of my wife's friends drive them (popular among the ladies, at least here in Texas) but they drive horrendously. Drove one to Houston once and it was a full time job just keeping it from driving crooked.
But they certainly look the part. |

I've heard that the driving characteristics are pretty bad.

@deutsch100 honest question here, what is the appeal of the G-Wagon?
In fairness I have not driven one, but note you've had quite a spread of nice vehicles, and curious the appeal. Obviously you to having had 9(!) of them! I would imagine they drive like tanks and so provide a 'feeling' of imperviousness (as well as obvious engine power on the higher models). Is it that feeling that is the juice?? I also personally don't see how the hell they command and get the price points on these vehicles! Cheers. |

I just hate the way the MBZ S-Class, E-Class and upcoming 2019 G-Class have those dual digital screens. Looks so unimaginative and strange! |

We are nearing G-Class #10, LOL since 2004! They are amazing on the highway and high speeds. MBZ sometimes lovingly refers to the G as the "Flying Brick". It feels glued to the road and made of solid granite.
BUT....a G-Class does not "handle" like an X5, Cayenne, RR Sport. It is top heavy and cumbersome! |

One thing though, they sound absolutely incredible. No exhaust note beats an AMG starting.

2004 to 2018 is a long time. They started only with G500 imported to the USA, and then G55, then G63 and then new version of G63 Biturbo.
With each major change we have changed too. Sometimes for engine, and/or transmission and sometimes for interior updates/colours/features! If you do not love a model, you do not get so many |

Congrats, we're quite a G family too. I have had 1 and my dad has had about 15 haha. Currently he has a 2016 G63 and a 1991 G320. The speed is certainly there, but we personally don't buy them for speed or handling, just the sound of the doors closing shows the strength and solidarity of the vehicle. Congrats again, love the color combo.

Terrible car for DD in my opinion. New one should be much better for daily. The previous gen was starting to feel like a dinosaur. But your car so congrats.
