I would guess Orlando with his screen name having MCO. That's the airport code for Orlando.

My SA for my 3-series is located at the Fields South Orlando. So I'll take the X5 to the same SA. |

Update:
Last Thursday and Friday, I left a voice message, text message and a verbal message with the receptionist at Lexus (where I got the car) to speak with the Product Specialist I dealt with. No response from him at all. No surprise. First thing on Monday, I drove to BMW and my SA looked at it with a paint tech. They both felt it was a cover-up. They used a paint meter that showed minimal difference between the hood and fender, but did find a big difference with the back hatch. My SA confirmed there was NO blemish noted on the hood when the car was brought in for scheduled maintenance (only 4 days prior to the previous owner trading it in at Lexus). They showed (& gave) me a copy of the form to indicate all the scratches and chips the service dept noted (which had the previous owner's signature acknowledging the form was accurate). After BMW, I drove straight over to Lexus and asked to see the Product Specialist. Of course, he's not there, so I ask to speak to the Sales Manager. I didn't tell him what was up, but instead SHOWED him and let him do the talking. He quickly told me that he'd arrange for their paint specialist to look at it and he felt they'd do a wet-sand and re-clear. Then he said he'll have the Product Specialist call me on Tuesday (today) morning to arrange an appointment. No call from him in the morning, so I called and finally got connected after 10 minutes. He had no idea why I was calling and told me he'd have to talk to the managers to get approval even though their Sales Manager told me he'd take care of it. Finally, I get a text message saying they're trying to reach their paint tech but no luck and I'll have to wait. I'll wait a couple of days before chasing them down again. In my gut, it certainly feels like Lexus knew about the cover-up and now I'm on to them, so they will try to remedy it. I'm a bit apprehensive to let them do the job, but since this cost will be out of my pocket, a hood repaint can be about $500 (low) by a paint specialist who does chip & scratch repairs for BMW to $1700 by a BMW-certified auto collision body shop. Either way, my SA advised that the paint has been jeopardized so the parts repainted will not be covered under BMW warranty. I'm patient enough to see where this might lead, but there's a time limit before I escalate this up to the GM at Lexus... and then if no help because I bought "as is", then I'll blast them on social media, BBB, dealerrater.com and perhaps the local news (a good friend is a news producer always looking for consumer protection stories). |

I thought I saw 2.07 on the hood (directly on the etching/clear coat issue) and 2.06 on the fender (only 8 inches away from problem spot). But the back hatch measured 3.12.
(I'm unfamiliar with meter readings so I have no idea what the units were) |

There are very clear sanding marks under the paint in that area. What you are likely seeing is a poor repair job/repaint that has not held up to the elements. I'm not sure what the dealership is going to do about this if you bought it "as is" but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Another update....
Went back to Lexus this AM and product specialist directed me to the service dept & used car sales manager who were waiting for me. They washed & waxed it, and realized a wet-sand and re-clear on the spot just won't do. They offered to repaint the whole hood at their auto body shop. BMW quoted me $1500-$1700 repaint of the hood so I'm relieved Lexus offered to cover it (but at their shop). |

Will certainly post repaint pics... hopefully it'll be a good job.... truth be told, I'm nervous it's not a body shop of my choosing but Lexus is being very helpful. The body shop is an independent garage that's close to them and lexus sends a lot of work their way for repaints. Lexus service guy told me it comes with "lifetime" warranty (not sure what that really means). I'll collect as much paper work and paint details as possible for my own records. Just hoping it matches for one!
As a side note, the Lexus Service guy told me it must have been a bird drop etching because they have a large bird hanging out close to their lot and they're always cleaning up after it (he thinks my car was overlooked in the lot checks and it baked in the hot Florida sun). |

Repaint completed!
Finally got my X back yesterday morning...
The hood was fully repainted and I'm happy! I'm so relieved Lexus re-thought about their correction and offered the full hood repaint rather than just the spot wet-sand/re-clear (and they ate the cost). It was waiting in the Lexus service bay and there was no question that my car stood out among all the cars there (heh heh heh) The pics were not easy to take of the repaint due to all the reflection... the spot affected was the upper right quadrant of the 1st pic: |

That's great OP glad they did a full respray for you, and at their expense.
