(Another) UK X5 30d M Sport...

Hi Folks

I'm currently active over on the F30 forum, but like a few on here I've jumped ship and got myself into an outgoing F15 X5 on the 0% finance deals for stock cars.

In an ideal world I would've liked a 40d but didn't find the 30d lacking when I had a demo for a day and drove it back-to-back with my remapped 330d. Never say never to some sort of tuning down the line though...

For those interested the car I chose came with the essential M Sport Plus pack, along with the 21" wheel option, Apple CarPlay and Heated Rear Seats.

The car is a significant step up from the F30, but you knew that already. Have already found this section of the forum useful for things like the rear cargo net, but just wanted to introduce myself ahead of the inevitable questions down the line as I explore the car!

Cheers

The DTUK boxes over here are well reviewed on the 30d/35d/40d engines, but I was looking at a Racechip RS earlier...

Haha yeah Glasgow has been unseasonably warm for the last 6-8 weeks. I can barely remember as good a stretch of weather here in Scotland, it's a bit of a novelty for us just now!

Have a look at the TDI tuning box. More power than race chip but no app

Been speaking with TDI as well - they are just about to release a bluetooth enabled box which you'll see appear on their site over the next day or 2. I have offered to do a comparison of that against my previous Bluespark and then remapped 330d if they can do a little sweetener for me.

Welcome, I am a fellow Glasgow newbie to the F15, I went for the 40d but sadly didn't get one with the 21" wheels, they are very nice!

Hi mate

which dealership did you use? Yeah I had specific options and budget in mind and this car ticked the most boxes. In all honesty, if I could've dropped the 21" wheels, carplay and heated rear seats in place of the 40d lump, I would have.

Don't get me wrong, the 21" wheels do look good but the 'standard' 20" wheel on the M Sports really suits the car. If I was speccing a factory order the additional £1,300 odd would probably have stayed in my pocket!

Got mine from John Clark in Dundee, they beat the price of a couple of dealers I've used down south to buy previous cars.

Msport +
Winter pack
High beam assist
3rd Row seats
360 camera view thing (still can't quite figure this one out)

Great spec - I spoke to JC but they were coming in more expensive than Fairbairn's for me, mainly I think because most of the cars left were 40d with the 3rd row seating.

I don't have the 360 cameras either, but could definitely see the benefit negotiating some of the tighter streets in the Southside!
