Factory Wheel Options

Is there a good thread with factory wheel options, tire sizes they come with, style numbers etc? I searched and didn't see anything.

From what I gather, if you have 19" wheels, you get a square setup but 20 or 21 get staggered tires. Isn't a staggered setup not ideal for an AWD system because the diameters aren't exactly the same?

I'm wondering if I go aftermarket 20 or 21, would it be better to get a square setup or does everyone stick with a staggered setup. I'd prefer 21s but the tire selection doesn't seem great. IMO 22s are a tad too big.

There is tons of threads on tide sizes, factory and aftermarket....

BMW xdrive is designed with staggered setups in mind which is why there are factory options. You need to keep the tire difference within tolerances and your good to go.

Cool thanks. I definitely did my fair share of searching and started to piece some info together. Was hoping there was some sort of a chart or something already out there.

As for your staggered question, you just need to make sure the outer tire diameter is the same front and rear, which the factory tire sizes are.

xdrive is not designed specifically for staggered set up or else a square set up will be problematic. u just have to be 4 sizes wider and 1 profile size smaller to keep the same overall circumference in a staggered setup, eg: 275/40 and 315/35. this will keep the f/r rolling distance the same and the center diff happy.

I am not sure if you found this thread or not, but it offers lots of OEM choices w/pics and info.
The OEM 21” Wheel Thread

I recommend going staggered, I think they look better.
21” OEM 375 is hard to beat!

Cheers!

These are "sport" SAVs, so the staggered is about traction and grip...plus the big a** tires look mean from behind. Most other SUVs on the market run square set-ups, including the other high performance ones....Jeep GC, RRS, Cayenne. You can run a square set-up on the xdrive as demonstrated by the 19" factory set-up and that most of us that have dedicated winter rims run square configurations. If you choose year-round squares you may want different offsets between front and rear or run spacers for the look.
