HUD all of a sudden too low?

Hey guys, yesterday night i noticed something strange my HUD disappeared. I came online today and noticed that some people it had gone away and come back after restarting the car ... so i go in for a drive today noticed it still wasnt there...

upon further inspection i saw it was very low --- i checked the HUD settings and it was on max height and i could see it if i lean my head forward and its all the way at the bottom. anyidea on what could have happened? car is a 2015 f15 with about 108,000 km

uploaded pics .. anyway to reset HUD? re calibrate it?

I had the same problem before. After inspection, the voltage from the battery is lower than 12.2 volts and they replaced the battery. Problem is gone for good now.

Hope this helps.

Mine was out of warranty too, but I still went to the dealer to get it replaced, but if you have an indy shop that you trust, you could also go that route and save some $$$

One person got it fixed by removing fuses for couple of minutes
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1489340&page=2
You can give it a shot, doesn't cost you anything.
Battery replacement varies from dealer to dealer but usually it is around $400
But you can DIY

about $700 but that's the price you pay when living in Asia with these types of car

I also tried the fuse method and it worked for only a day or two, then the same problem again so hence the diagnose and a new battery.

Lmfao that dealership is the definition of stealership. Whichever dealer that is, stay away.

Did you post the correct thread for the DIY? The link in this thread the person took their x5 somewhere to have the battery replaced.

Is there anything required other than removing the old battery & putting in the new? Ie I’m hoping there is not anything the dealer has to do to tell the car the battery has been swapped out. I seem to recall the e90 folks required an extra step other than just replacing the battery. I had my f30 for 5+ years but never had to do anything with the battery.

Well that is not exactly step by step DIY thread but long story short you can buy new battery from Batteries Plus Bulbs or other retailer and replace it. You will also need to register the battery so it charges properly, you will need ISTA and the Enet cable or some other scanners (like described in the linked thread) also can help you with coding new battery.

try removing the fuses first if HUD is your main concern. my battery shows no signs of dying (starts up no problems) im not sure why the fuse pulling fixed my issue ... could have been a caching issue on the computer

Mine has been playing froggy for a bit where it actually shifts from time to time as to where it's projected on the windshield. I have to keep messing with the rotation and height. Took it to the dealer who said it's normal sometimes but SA and I are not happy with the response so took it back to the dealer for that issue again along with it intermittently fading in and out

Let's see what they can do this time...

Car is currently at the dealership so I can't but I will suggest that to the SA in case he is overridden by the foreman to say nothing is wrong.

Happened to me this morning. Pulled the fuses (50 &52) and it has reset and is fine. For now at least. I'll report back if it happens again.

Anyone know if there is a way to perform the reset using protool?

The reason I ask is that my car is RHD and access to the fuse box involves removing 2x panels below the steering wheel with a 10mm socket and a torx screwdriver. Rather than the 3x plastic tulhumbturns on the panel under the glovebox as on LHD cars.
