I just ordered it, will see how it compares to my RaceChip Ultimate.
getbmwparts sells it for 995.. My BIG doubt is if I really can install it, because I have NBT retrofitted...and maybe dealer will program the car...
You can't install it. It must be done by a dealer, unfortunately.

A member here who helped me code my F15 says he can do it. Check with someone who can code your vehicle.

I don't believe you can install, although there may be someone who has gotten around the system. The dealer gets a download code in the mail after you buy. They download it and install in your car.

This is the description from GetBMWParts:

Genuine BMW F15 X5 M Performance Power Kit - 35i/iX only. The M Performance Power kit unleashes greater power and torque from the third generation X5 xDrive35i. An additional 20 horsepower and 32 ft/lb are added when retrofitting this power kit along with sharper accelerator calibration for increased response and acceleration. Kit includes FSC Code, decal kit, badge, and labels. Dealer installation required for the FSC Code. Not for vehicles with towing hitch. *Include vin with order.

Rather unlikely that you'd see a whole .5 from a software tune that nets about 75 hp in a two and a half ton vehicle.

The BMW tune may actually re-tune your motor rather than the piggybacks from RC, etc. Total HP and torque increases mean absolutely nothing unless it is explained where the HP and torque is applied. If both come in early in the RPM, then it might launch nicely. If the HP and torque are at the top of the RPM, you'll probably never use it.

I've read where some say the sound of the exhaust is different. The only way this can happen without changing the exhaust is by altering ignition timing/fueling/valve timing. Possible proof of true re-tuning.

Additionally, it is interesting that BMW states, "not for vehicles with a hitch." That means, no towing. It means, the tune is on the edge of the engine's parameters/capabilities and putting an additional load on the engine could cause damage. To me, that means the manufacturer is claiming the maximum safe additional HP/TQ is 20/32.

For the hitching disclaimer I believe because with MPPK, the vehicle is "downshift" happy, correct me if I am wrong but isn't this bad when you are hauling load?

For the exhaust, yes the sound is a bit wee more aggressive and a bit throaty could be due to added boost and timing, plus the exhaust flapper is readily open

On the F15 sDrive 35i not in conjunction with SA 235 (trailer
tow hitch).
I read this as that it only applies to sDrive (RWD) only.

Also did you guys know anything about this???

X5FX give us your review comparison versus the RaceChip when you get yours installed! How much did your dealer quote you on the install? Did you purchase the MPPK from GetBMWparts.com ?

Yes, GetBMWparts use code SUMMER25 for $25 off or SUMMER45 for $45 off over $1000 (its on their Facebook page, double ck exact code) + free shipping.

I have a coder installing it. It comes with the code and downloaded software I am told.

It would be very interesting if coders can install this after someone purchases it from the dealer. Keep us posted!

So apparently ( for my dealer ) if I purchase any accessories from another BMW dealer, I can not have them installed. My Dealer will only install from accessories that are purchased directly with them. Anyone else purchase MPPK from GetBMWparts.com and have it installed at your local dealer?

That's what I'm planning on doing since I just ordered. That logic makes no sense or getbmwparts wouldn't be able to sell the power kit since you need dealer install

Then have them price match what Tischer BMW is advertising the MPPK is on sale for. Thats what I had my sales guy do for me over at Rallye BMW

I had already asked them to match the pricing.. after they said no because it was below their cost.. I asked if it would be okay to purchase from another dealer and have it installed with them as long as I pay for the install... I guess I'll go over to another dealer for the install.

Such BS. Tischer is just like any BMW dealer and i highly doubt their cost is any different from any other BMW dealers. Don't forget you also don't have to pay tax with Tischer too since its out of state.

I just didn't want to argue with my dealership so I paid $1143 for the kit, and I'll get my SA to install it for free. She's awesome and loves me
