I went from 328 to M2 to F15 and I love it. Whiles it's not the "funnest" car I've ever had it's so particle I don't care. Always get compliments on it and it's super comfortable. Only warning I'd give is be careful with car seats on the leather.

Yes we would buy another. My wife's daily is a 16 35i sport with a number of options.
We went from a 335 to a X3 then back to another 335 and then ultimately to the X5. The 335's were times when she wanted a stick shift. Were we to need to acquire another one, I would look for a heavily loaded 35d. I would want one with DHP, full leather and B&O..... and of course the other required option packs. |

I bought my 15" M Sport 50i almost 2 years ago and would def buy another one maybe a 17 or 18 to get the newer iDrive and maybe DHP. Would have to be MSport and 50i.

I've had three X5's and my current one is a 2016 (F15) with 26.5k and it's a great ride and I plan on keeping it. I think the new X5 is even better but mine is like new so why buy a new car when the one I own is great. I think X5's are very good SAV"s! Take your time and find a clean one that has been card for.

Ac
Have you go into Command and taken the rest AC off. It makes the system really work so much better. It took me 2 years to realize that “ synch” automatically made the rear come back on. With the rear on it drains all the air movement. Try it and see if it makes you change ur mind.

Yup 469M wheels and knocking on 60k on the odo. I'm just shy of being fully loaded also, just minus the B&O system, DHP and night vision. Would be hard to buy a newer version and not get the same equipment. My wife almost traded her Fully Loaded F30 335i MSport for a F25 X3 MSport since she liked my X5 but said was too big/heavy for her but liked the feel on the loaner X3 we had awhile back. The X3 was not as loaded and did not have the pep of her 3 series even though it was the 35i engine as well. The G01 X3 30i have more pep from a dig than the F25 she said so she might hold off until a G01 M40i or 30i Msport becomes available. It's hard to give up the goodies once you've had them.

I would definitely buy my F15 50i again. It's performed flawlessly for 39K miles. Literally not a single malfunction of any sort. Performance is outstanding, and that fact that I can use it any day of the year in Minnesota is a big plus. Climate control and other comfort features work really well, especially compared to the 2014 Acura MDX I had previously. The interior temperature sensor on that Acura must have been embedded in a 20-pound block of lead and buried under the carpet in the back seat. If you started it up cold at an outside temp of 25 and had the interior temp set to 70, the heater would run WOT long enough to melt your eyebrows before it ever "throttled down" to maintain a steady temp. Did the same when it was hot out - it'd freeze your balls off before it'd simmer down. I even took it to the dealer with my super-accurate Thermapen food thermometer, to demonstrate how it would overshoot the desired temperature by 25-30 degrees, and they just shrugged their shoulders at me. Although it partially made up for it by being boring as fuck to drive.

All you guys tslking about your 50i(humble 30d UK owner)makes me want to move over to the US.
In Britain 50i is rarer than an unicorn given the fuel prices here.(2359 used x5's on autotrader and precisely 5 of them are 50i's )! |

Just sold my Limited 4runner for a F85.
OP, you posted this on a X forum, so I have to think that you want the X, you are just trying to justify it. Of course this forum will say buy the X, just like a Toyota forum would say to buy the 4R. I have owned both and like them for different reasons.... If your main concern is depreciation, the 4Runner is a no brainer. (It also would be the clear choice over the X5 for off-roading. You didn't mention that, so I assume that is a mute issue.) I owned my 4R for 8yrs and put 85k miles on it. (I was the second owner). I sold it for 12k less than I paid for it. (Bought for 26k, sold for 14k). Never is a strong word, but barring some rare collector car, you would never find a German car that holds its value even close to that. 4R is reliable, simple, parts are cheap, very capable and they hold their value with the best of them. However, I look forward everyday to driving the F85. Not that I didn't enjoy the 4R, but I didn't crave driving it. I try to find reasons to drive the X, because I really enjoy it. It is much more comfortable, faster, good tech, good looks, good sounds, etc... Tech in the 4R, and Toyota's in general, (especially their infotainment) lags the industry by many years. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2017 LX570, but the infotainment just sucks. In conclusion, if your main concern is depreciation, 4R is the way to go. If you want to enjoy the driving experience and don't mind some steep depreciation, the X is the one. Good luck.

Had my 50i for a year now. Longest I've kept a car since moving to the US 4.5 years ago.
Couple of things irritate me, but performance and style....will definitely get another. Cosnidering the X5M, but might just get a loaded 50i and tweak like my current one.
