Question How often do you wash your SAV?

As I was looking at the last posts of the year, I have realized that I did not get my X5 washed for almost 3 weeks now! (Being space gray, it tolerates dirt better than some other colors).

Then I wondered how often everyone is washing their vehicles?
I know it is different depending of the rime of the year but what is the schedule?
When do you feel it is time to get rid of the dirt? How much dirt is too much?
Do you wash her yourself or do you go to a car wash?
Do you polish her after each wash? What's your routine in between washes?

Have a Great New Year in health and prosperity!

Usually every 3mo. Probably been 3mo since I washed her. But it's also been 2mo+ since I've driven her. She sleeps in the garage.

Wash the exterior every 2-3 weeks. Clean the interior at least once a week.

Ceramic coating has been my friend.

During winter, high pressure water w/Simple Green once or twice a week, depending on snow/salt days before.
In early summer, I apply Simple Green every couple of days due to bugs.
Other than that twice a month minimum, hand wash.

Space Gray Metallic is the best color for dusty locations. This color does not show dirt. I absolutely love it - thinking of selling my black car because black is dirty 5 minutes after you wash it.

During the winter months, I try to wash at least once a month. I have a ceramic coating so I use a touch less car wash to get the salt and grime off.
Summer I try to wash a few times a week, however now that I have a baby at home, I'm sure that won't be possible lol

Every Friday rain or shine. I live in Vancouver and there is a lot of construction so the white does not stay clean. In the Summer maybe every other week. I use only Adams cleaning products. So washing is a breesze.

I wash it whenever it gets so dirty that it's bothering me, which usually isn't very dirty because I like getting into a clean car. The situations where I'll skip the wash are: a.) it's going to rain or snow - or warm winter temps are going to cause a lot of snow melt on the roads - in the next day or so; b.) in the summer if the front is covered in bugs but I'm going to have to drive at night again in the next day or so; and c.) if I'm not going to be driving it for several days - typically in the summer when I'm at the cabin - I'll skip the wash until right before I'm going to drive it again.

Exterior wash twice a month. During winter I use a undercarriage washer as they od on salt here

303 for interior vinyl/plastics

For seats I used to use Zaino leather cleaner and top off with Zaino leather conditioner every 6 months but noticed the seats started getting shinier. I asked friends who are in detailing and was told not to put conditioner on dakota leather as its urethane coated the oil/wax will do nothing but just sit on the surface. From then on I scrub with a water based cleaner every 6 months and wipe down every other week with a damp mf towel since then it stays looking matte and clean

When I have time (never). Ceramic coating and glacier silver helps to extend the period when I can tolerate the condition of the car.

What does everyone use to clean wheels with caked on brake dust and dirt? Looking to wash and detail my car this weekend.

If it’s really bad and you have OEM wheels, use Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener.

Makes sense but sometimes there are circumstances that make one postpone the wash like rain, snow, road trip, etc.

If i'm lucky, once a month. I have it garaged at night and have underground parking at work to help keep it clean for the most part. I need to get on that ceramic game but have mineral white so wont know it'll help.
