Very involved. I had an extended warranty but I think it would have been about 2k at the dealership without one.

Yup! I've had almost every gasket replaced where oil can seep from to try and find why I got the "Add 2 qt" pop up more than I should have. I think they finally got it on my last visit. Good thing I was still under original/cpo warranty. You should still be under your original warranty unless you've already exceeded 50k on the odo.

Dealer quoted me $4200 for the upper pan gasket. Calling for around 12 hours labor, I told them to get bent. I'll end up tackling it myself when I have a lot of free time.

Subframe needs dropped, theres an intricate alignment/tightening/torque sequence. If you dont know what you're doing it will end up leaking worse that it did before

Yes still under warranty - but im worried about it failing again after its up - and if any other problems will come from the work that had to be done like smashe said about dropping the subframe this cant be good ?
