What are a perfect set of stock Msport bumpers worth?
Thinking about trying out something new on my X5 35d. Was wondering what my OEM Msport bumpers would fetch on the used market in perfect condition? Has anyone sold their stock Msport bumpers? Obviously these would be even better for someone one already has a Carbon Black X5, and could bolt them right on.

Having just bought front bumper and sides - they are only worth a little more if going on a car that is already the same color. If someone wants them for a dif color car - they have to strip them, and reprime then paint them.
Whereas if they order from BMW factory like I did they come primed and ready for paint. Also - if someone is converting they will need the retrofit kit as the substructure is not 100% the same. I guess a bonus is your front bumper should have the grills already installed...so that saves a few hundred. Also - its hard to tell what paint shops charge as it can vary greatly. So I guess the old adage is true - they are worth what someone is willing to pay. For reference - front bumper is typically 1-1.5k new, but you can find used ones that need paint on Ebay for like 300. Last edited by parkstr8; 06-16-2019 at 07:25 PM.. |

Crappy pictures since my car just got rained on in the driveway. Nothing I can do about it now. I can get better pictures once I wash the car again.

Given that the model has gone away, I'd say around 1K.
I sold my X Line stock last year on ebay last year for $350, out of which $250 was shipping to CA, via freight. At this point, I think only enthusiasts would pursue this, i.e. an XLiner who would want to pony a few thousand $$$ to upgrade...well worth it in my opinion. |

IMO its only worth it if the color is matching for bolt on application. Since bumper is plastic it might be really hard to prep, prime and paint it to match paint and remove any imperfections. So if you find someone with the same color- I would say its fair to ask around $1500 for both, but if you just put them on ebay, hard to tell but you probably won't be able to get much out of them, they run for $300-500 for the front and $200-400 for rear used.

OEM 612m wheels powdercoated gloss black. I also have spacers 15mm front, and 20mm rear. Suspension is H&R VTF springs with adjusted air ride in the rear.

While they may be in "perfect" condition, they are used and mounted on the car. I would think differently if they were never mounted and in your garage. Visually they look good but their surfaces have been exposed to dirt, road debris, and winter weather conditions (I see you are in Michigan), etc. Unless you have a protective coating on the bumpers they are not "perfect" and have taken a microscopic beating that does affect their paint quality and finish. Plus these are large and bulky so you have to factor in shipping that people would be willing to pay. Your best fit would be someone color matched and even better for local pick-up. You would be super lucky if you found someone looking to replace a damaged bumper. Used bumpers can be found anywhere in the range of $200-500 on ebay with rears being in the lower end range and fronts higher. Sold as a set I think you could ask $1000-1200 with shipping to lower 48 included for someone color matched. Unlike wheels, this may not be an item that will move quickly if overpriced. Otherwise it probably would be easier (and possibly cheaper) for someone not color matched to buy an unpainted bumper than to go with yours.
Side note - you have a 35d, why slap an X5M logo on it? |

I have OEM X5M grills, so the logo came mounted to the grills. Same with my wheels and several other parts on my car. Being an Msport, it has ///M logos already all over the car. Steering wheel, door sills, wheels, and now grills. I also have the flavored X5M side vents, but I just haven’t installed them yet. I was waiting to have my car paint corrected and ceramic coated.
