Mucho Macho tires

Came across these Cosmo MuchoMacho tires on ebay for $390 with tax, delivered. Staggered 315 and 275 20" set.
I was like how are they so cheap?
So I bought them for the heck of it.

You're a brave and adventurous person, I like the spirit!

On a slightly more serious note, this is a curious case indeed. Brand looks childish, reviews are a little sketchy, like this one:

"Bought these online because they were an affordable option and the tires look really good. Don't know much about tires, but really happy with my purchase.

Tire Model: Mucho Macho
Tire Size: 225/50ZR17

— Jennifer Case"

But as an experiment - hell, why not? Hope they won't explode on the corner. (I'm slightly paranoid about tires and I install only premium brands on my cars)

...and there's a little shitstorm in the comments (really garbage article about those tyres here): https://www.thedrive.com/news/30911/...l-season-tires

You sir have balls of steel! The "WTF were they thinking!?!?" name aside, Anything that says "quality tested" that didn't come on a 19.95 info-commerical, raises a big red flag for me....not saying they are bad, could be they are great tires, just have a really bad marketing director...please do update us with how they work out.

Two things you should never cheap on. Tires, for you and your family's life's depends on them and the other one is shoes, for you are on your feet all day long so wearing something comfortable would make your day lot less tiring.

Regarding tires, you will never know how good these are unless you have had a good brand tires in the past to compare the ride and the most importantly, the braking distance.

Just wondering, 275/315's cost $70/each, I wonder what would 225/50 for a 17" wheels cost, $40? Nope, i am sorry I am out.

Btw, If I was you, I would try them on wife's cars first, just to be on the safe side

When I read the name, I started thinking it was a Chinese cheap tire, with a China only based marketing company behind it. (the whole tiger theme...)
But reading more about them, and it seems like it is a US based? company (or division of a bigger conglomerate), selling a budget brand of tires possibly made in Thailand, trying to compete with a decent product, geared towards a younger clientele who might believe the name is hip!?!?

There was not a lot of info about them available and their website doesn't give much background..
I did find this article that seems legit.
http://automotivethinker.com/tires/c...me-good-tires/

Anyway, I'm sure anyone showing up to cars and coffee with an expensive European high performance vehicle, and MuchoMacho tires, would probably get a good laugh behind his back. But that doesn't really mean much.
I would find it hard looking at the name, when I washed my car. I put the name in the same category as adding "big brake" plastic covers over stock brakes.

Tires might be ok, and for kids who can't afford brand name tires, they would be better than driving with worn out ones.
Actually, considering how many people these Covid19 days are finding themselves in a financial crunch, these tires might be a good alternative for many others too.
If nothing else, it might somewhat drive the prices down on brand name tires, who have to compete.

Safety first. Cheaper tires are often made with less rubber and do not have a very strong construction. These tires tend to be a lot louder while driving, which can be distracting and annoying. Also make sure they are appropriately speed rated and have appropriate weight carrying capacity

You are mucho macho senior for getting these. Seems like another Walmart style budget tire brand. Does it necessarily mean that they are bad? Probably not, but I don't really see much of science or engineering behind these tires. More of the company who buys thread patterns or copies them from famous brands and then order bulk tires from the factories in AP region.

All jokes aside, these are just cheap tires from cheap brand. Chinese or Taiwanese it doesn't matter. They work. I used similar set of Chinese cheap no name tire (there was a name but I forgot) - lots of them on ebay. I used them as a all-season tire, but drove in summer. I have good brand winter dedicated tires that I won't go cheap as I need traction. However for summer slow traffic stop and go - ANY tire will do, just make sure they are sound physically without cuts, defects etc. And it doesn't really matter if they will last 70% or even 50% - it does the job and I'm happy with it.

No thank you. Too many excellent tires out there for my family.

As a set of rim protectors for something that goes no where in this COVID mess, well, that’s a different story. Please keep us informed of your experience.

On my old e53 4.8 in the U.K. I was selling and needed 2 x 20" rears, found two cheap tyres and put them on. The back kept trying to slide out even when not pushing it so never repeated it again. When I looked the 315 Michelin was 30-40mm wider tread on road than the ditch finders!

Also as there not star rated would not take a chance on an already not over strong transfer case, but each to their own and I hope there safe and treat you well!

You should look twice at tires before pulling the trigger.
Beside the super sketchy name, without hurting your feeling, the thread does not seems to be for many season.
Compared to the picture (I let you recognize the tire so I am not making a marketing statement) you can see the difference.
Now if your use if exclusively drive flat country side warm SoCal kind of whether it might fit the bill.

Stay safe !

Thanks for taking one for the team. If you're still alive when my car needs a new set of shoes I'll consider these

Lol.
I'll post an update. Though i won't be putting them on soon. Barely drive the x5, and there's still a bit of tread left on my current tires...

Anyone want to buy these? Lol
My replica 469 wheels are beat up, hence my reason to throw cheap tires on.
But I just bought a set of oem 469 wheels locally with good tires. So I wouldn't need the cosmo for a couple years probably. Lol
I'm in Northern Illinois.
