New to me 35D
Hi Everyone,
Purchased a used 35D a couple weeks ago (my2018) and loving it. I got a lot of reading to do, I think first thing is buying a spare tire (not a fan of runflats) and tune. first week of ownership had a family trip in the smokeys and was able to take it on the tail of the dragon, handles decent for a heavy suv, the M pkg sure helps. Thanks for adding me to the group. Vito |

Welcome to the X5 and 35d owners group! I have a 15 35d M Sport with basically every option except DHP and leather dash…just completed the Targeted Illumination upgrade too recently. I love this car - hope to drive it to 300k miles or beyond. I've ditched the runflats but went with the roadside assistance instead of spare tire option as I have a Kicker sub in there. Highly recommend Continental DWS06+ AS tires - so much quieter than the OEM performance runflats, stick nicely to the road and last much longer. Learn about coding if you don't already have experience with it - many tweaks you can do to these cars.

Hey Welcome to the 35d life. I find the Run flat to be miserable once they start to wear past 1/2 tread life. Lots of Roar. So I got the ECS tuning spare kit and some Pilot AS3 tires. I do have the larger wheel/air suspension, so it's 315's out back. Been happy with my decision so far.

When these tires are worn, I for sure will go with reg tires, I hate the run flats. I got a nail in one of the rears after a couple weeks of ownership, and everyone I asked/called said I had to replace the tire. The rears were replaced when I purchased the car, since they were really thin. I did fix the tire myself, but still, just the entire concept is dumb. Since this is the family car, I plan to buy a spare tire kit.
I have not yet played with the Ista yet, I did buy the cable, I haven't figured out the software yet, I just haven't had a lot of free time, but I will dig into it (I 've had many audi/VW, so familiar with ecu tweaks). I have another month of warranty, then I'm getting the tune, can't leave a diesel on a stock tune. Thanks for the welcome. |

I have a 2015 35d. I bought an aftermarket spare and got rid of the awful runflats. Put on a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS plus 3. Much quieter and more comfortable than the previous Goodyear runflats.
