Went 20" Square
Moved from 315/35/20 rears to 275/40/20
Couldn't find 2 good 451 fronts, so went with MSW Type 40 - et40 all around. New DWS06 plus. New TPMS aftermarket and they registered including tire temp. Center badges from ebay with no issues. Car feels good and I think understeer is reduced. Ride is great. I don't really see a huge difference in the rear wheel outer edge vs the 315's. They owe me black valve stems and will get those swapped at first rotation. Reasons: 17K miles on the last set of rears due to non rotation and this will help me in the snow kept the 451's in case I wanted to return but I think I am going to sell them based on initial ride and looks of these |

I have a 2015 X5 M Sport xDrive. When we purchased it used two years ago, the previous owner had upgraded the wheels to the 21" 310M wheels. Love the look of the wheels, but hate the price of the tires. I purchased a brand new set of tires last August, and my front tires already need to be replaced again. They lasted me just a year, and the rear tires will need to be replaced in the next few months I'm sure.
I've been looking for 20" square set to be able to rotate them, but I'm having problems finding something I like.

New to the forum having recently purchased a X5. Stumbled across a neighbor selling staggered wheels off his X6. Price seemed decent, $1200 and they look new. Includes the TPMS for each. Despite the criticism and I being a car nut since birth knew the headache going in. However, I'm not going to drive this much, plus I have the 19" setup it came with.
Not BMW related, but I kept my Land Rover LR3 HSE (purchased new), so pretty comfortable with aging cars and what to expect long term. |

But yes, agreed! It does look like the rear could use some help. |

The effect on the ride depends on the length of the control arms and how much you effectively changing the spring rate. On most BMWs 20-30mm represents an effective 10% or less decrease in spring rate. The last time I ran the numbers, anyway…
Pretty much unnoticeable. |
