Drivetrain error

Drivetrain error drive at moderate speed and go to your nearest bmw centre message came on today 🙄.
The car seemed to be lowish on power. Switced it off and turned ignition back in and car is running perfectly.
Just out of warranty so should I bother taking it to the dealer or shall I wait and watch?

Might want to wait/watch. These errors can be an isolated occurrence and clear by themselves; however, if something serious, will repeat at which time a Dealer trip is suggested.

Happened to me recently. It turned out to be my High Pressure Fuel Pump.

A "Drivetrain Malfunction" is a general message and can be almost anything.

Have you tried reading the codes?

interestingly the mpg is down too. It is waiting an egr cooler replacement under the recall program but no date for this yet as part on back order from Germany.
