Thats who I'm going to go through. Couple dollars off retail from PTF and download cable is included in their price as well.
The added cable is nice, but if you already have one and there are no discounts available from other retailers, it's easier to buy it directly from ProTuningFreaks. Plus, you will get your activation key immediately.

Update.

Went from RC Ultimate to BM3 stage 1, 93 octane. Not even close in comparison. Ordered through x-ph...went great.

Power delivery is not the same. Worth every penny. I have all intentions of going to stage 2 with some catless downpipes and putting it on a stage II map. Probably just buy the whole catalog of maps to play with. E85 is plentiful around here. Having tuned my lil track car from scratch, its nice to just have a plug and play option with the OTS maps.

Catless pipes came in this week. Hope to install this weekend if time allows! Also going to be switching maps to stage II.

What is the difference between BM stage I and BM stage II? Cant find a concrete answer for the N63tu.

I'll get some pics up before/after...and some datalogs.

Sounds great! Keep us updated.

I thought bootmod3 only had stage one and two maps and no ethanol map?

They have approx. 10 I would guess for the n63tu. Several beta for the gurgling, burbling, etc. Almost positive they have an e30 stage ii map. I will be sticking with 93 stage ii till cooler weather rolls around. Then as long as my fuel pumps can keeps up, run E30 map at the track and not when it's a 100 damn degrees outside.

Got a feeling that stage ii runs up to 21psi...leaving 0.7psi on the OEM map sensor. May need to upgrade to 3 bar, just have to see I guess.

Shooting for low 11s though

For reference, I was running close to 22 psi on 93 octane stage 1 when I sent them some data logs.

From the iPad app....

Anyone know why Stage 1 Version 1 has newer release date than Version 4?

Difference between -1728 and -172H

Pics of the ARM down pipes. Honestly, for the price, I didn't know what to expect. But, for $320 shipped, I am really pleasantly surprised! I'm fairly comfortable in fabrication and welding...I made my own downpipe, exhaust, intercooler piping (AL), and dumptube on my RSX. The welds on these look great. No sugaring through (i.e. back purged), nice straw coloring to show HAZ is good (heat affected zone) is in a good range. Install next weekend.

So, just checked. And it was actually $312 shipped! Directly from ARMs website with the coupon code.

I dont have a draggy (yet ), but there's an AWD dyno about 30 minutes from here. Figured I would flash to stock, stage I, and stage II then do some pulls. I know that I'll have catless downpipes for the "stock" pull ,but at least its some data.

ARM wasn't my first stop for downpipes for my car. I had planned on VRSF or even AR, ER, etc.

I tried to contact VRSF for some questions about their pipes, but no answer. Twice actually. I needed to know if the slip fit style comes with a flex joint, how many field failures have they had...no response, radio silence.

Reaching out to other vendors (that may or may not frequent this forum ), I asked about some of the models mentioned above. Of course they are going to push the most expensive option as being the best, but where is the data to back that up? No love for ARM pipes.

So I call up ARM just to see what they are all about. This guy answers the phone on the 2nd ring (forgot his name), but I asked about anything and everything I could about the pipes. What are they made out of (304SS), how many warranty claims have you had, whats the differences, gaskets needed, etc. ARM was very open and down to earth, easy to talk to. And I could actually talk to him!

Fitment, I have no idea. But I'll report back.

I think the different pricing comes down to the diameter they provide.

Help please! | Looking to buy a tune

This thread was supposed to be about tunes, which it is, however i only see anything from 19 pages of posts about the BM3 tune/software license.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the best tune out in the market right now?

Currently i am looking at DME Tuning but i am a noobie at the moment with my research. https://dmetuning.com/

Any advice is welcome! thank youu!

The reason your seeing so much about BM3 is because they really are the best tuning platform out there right now and most of us are running one of their OTS tunes. When you purchase your license, you get the choice of one OTS (off the shelf) tune of your choice, or you can pay an additional fee and get all OTS tunes. There are currently 4 tunes available for the 50i: 2 for stock setups (Stage 1) and 2 for modified vehicles (Stage 2). These are mild (ie. "safe") tunes but they really wake up the 50i. BM3's customer service cannot be beat. While they don't advertise this, they will actually tweak whichever OTS tune you choose for your specific vehicle. Just send them some data logs and politely ask them to look at them.

Now, what makes the BM3 platform really great is that your not just stuck with their tunes. Most of us are very happy with the OTS tunes but if you want more, the software allows you to request a tune from any tuner who participates (and there are a lot of them). For a fee, they can create a custom tune and extract even more power.

So, as you can see, I believe BM3 really is THE tuning platform to get right now. It's extremely well supported, safely used by a large group of enthusiasts, and is a relative bargain.

Well said. I plan to get BM3 soon and was considering also getting a Racechip XLR to improve throttle response. Do you know if it would be redundant to buy the XLR? Do the basic BM3 tunes accomplish the same improved throttle response as the XLR?

BM3 OTS tunes to not modify the throttle response at all. Some people find Eco Pro and Comfort to be a bit slow with the throttle response. While I tend to agree, I like it that way. Comfort is comfort: it upshifts early and stays off boost unless your leaning into it. If you want quicker throttle response in those modes, something like the XLR is probably the way to go. In my opinion, Sport and Sport+ are perfect the way they are and I worry about how agressive they will become with the XLR.

I think someone here has it so hopefully they will chime in with their opinions.

I would save my money and avoid any pedal commander/throttle hardware.
Enjoy the car with the BM3 OTS first as it may or may not affect your overall experience.

I agree with this, in my past cars where I had BM3 and driven friends I like having OEM pedal mapping in EcoPro/Comfort but still there's some extra power when you step on it.

It's just the turbo lag that's killing me. Coming from a naturally aspirated M3 maybe I noticed it more than others.
