Cruise when ACC Stop & Go disabled?

I understand that ACC Stop & Go will disable itself in heavy rain or when the car is very dirty, etc.

When this happens, does "good old" standard cruise control still work or is it disabled too?

I believe the answer is no. When the drivers assistance hardware becomes obstructed all functionality of cruise control when equipped with ACC is disabled. This happened to me a few times over the winter.

I guess I am OK with that... in very very heavy rain, you shouldn't use the cruise control anyway! But, if there is some malfunction in the system, ever, then it would be a bummer to not be able to use cruise on a bright sunny day.

Here is my take on this; when we took the the X5 up north and had some heavy snow fall the front bumper of the car was covered in ice and snow. I got a warning that the ACC is deactivated but normal cruise control was still working just not the distance control.

Here in Houston we get heavy downpours every now and then though never had the system deactivate...

Hope this helps...

No, the cruise control will not have any function once it is disabled. This happens to me often between snow and foggy conditions.

Interesting, I wonder why your car is different than mine...
