More for the sarcastic portion of this thread!
But I do have an LE background which is why I chose to carry on occasions.
Ummm I live in Little Rock, no sarcasm here. Mine is always on me or with me. I use the steering wheel clip when I'm driving. If I go in some place that does not allow me to carry, it goes in a lock box that's bolted down in the trunk. Other than that I'm always joking..... U less I'm not joking

Well, for your sake, I hope you never have to use it and you and your family always remain safe, my friend.

Extra pair of sunglasses. I always forget a pair or am coming home next morning. Definite Lifesaver for a hangover drive home!

this is not legal in florida. i must either have it on my person, in a holster, or put away in a glove box or center console in a holster...a 2 step process to access the firearm....defeats the purpose of a self defense tool within quick and easy access but it is what it is.

this is ideal while im driving the car, but if i forgot to put it back in the glove box when i get pulled over, im likely to get shot...

where in our country is there not shootings, robberies, gun point hold ups? i dont believe it does not occur anywhere the USA with our way of life gun culture.....i support concealed firearms, because the criminals will carry and use theirs against the Law....better to have and not need it, then need it and not have it....college campus's, late night walmart runs, movie theatres, banks.....bad things happen just about everywhere in recent history

i dont want to make this post about guns and concealed carry firearms, but just an explanation against thoughts

I understand where you're coming from, but my question was geared towards actual areas where forum members live. That's all. We're all aware of what society is like, bud.

So my "secret" compartment keeps breaking. The metal bars that hold the handle in keep falling out. Anyone have a fix for this or experience this?

I luv that little cubby hole! First thing I do when I get in is separate my X5 fob which only has my office key on it. I drop this part in that little square compartment behind the shift.

Then the brunt of my other keys goes into that drop down compartment. It does not rattle since it is fabric lined. I also keep my Wife's spare Audi key fob (its even bigger than the X5's) all the time in that compartment incase I drive the Audi or need to move it around in my driveway.

My previous Toyota Highlander had an ever larger and similar cubby in the same spot.
Change (as its dirty and noisy) I keep in a small ziplock in the long compartment along the bottom of the door.

That little compartment to the left of the steering column makes for nice use of otherwise wasted space. A wallet would also be good in there, but I'm sure I'd always walk away from the X5 and forget to take the wallet with me

When my boating/trailering season is over I can detach that ring of 8 keys next to the pocket knife for the next 7 or so months.

There I stored my coding cable, thinking that it was a great idea...

...until I forgot and looked for it all over my house.

Now my coding cable is stored in a pouch together with the coding manuals and that small compartment stays empty, to avoid forgetting something else.

Now you tell me. I learned the same way you did.
I keep rolling transponder until I need it, mailbox is key and a usb of only AC/DC
For driving on the freeway!
Condoms tucked away there in Florida wouldn’t work.

Did not know there was a secret compartment until came across this thread this morning. Just started utilizing it for sunglasses.

Thank you

Ok. I just did a search for "secret compartment" and couldn't find anything on it. Where is this compartment everyone's talking about?

Hahaha it's just the change drawer to the left of the steering wheel.
