Man, I have to stop reading these things in public. Hurts my manly image to cry. I'll do it for you if you can't.

Sorry to hear about Angus OP. Don't know what it's like to lose a furry family member yet. My boy Cringer just turned 14. Older end of the spectrum for a Siberian Husky and he's slowed down recently. Hoping for another healthy year from him.

Sorry for your loss. I have a lab and a golden doodle who are getting up there in age. Don't even like to think about it.

Sad...very sorry. Keep all your memories of the good times, I'm sure they will come back from time to time and make you smile.

Your post got me all teared up, hope he is in a much better place now and Patches is feeling happy that his bro is back.

A few months ago, I came across the image below somewhere on the internet a and showed that to my wife. She had just gotten out of the shower and initially thought it was going to be just another stupid funny meme. She realized I was not smiling/ laughing though. Then she read it and we sat down quietly for 5 minutes with no words out of our mouth, then our 13.5 yr old Shih tzu (Charlie) jumped right on the bed in front of us and he sat down looking at us wondering what's wrong. We had a long family hug after that !! Blind in one eye and starting to go blind in the other one, I will be a mess when the dreaded day comes.

I hope this Rainbow bridge is a true thing as much as I hope neither Charlie nor myself ever have to cross it.

Awww so sorry to hear. It’s always difficult when you’re so attached to a pet/person and they pass on. Time will heal things but it’s always going to be difficult at first. I don’t think you’ll ever going to forget. It just becomes something you come to accept and will always be part of you.

Getting more tests isn't going to help as spending lot's of money to prolong an ending life is something that my wife and I don't want to do. He sleeps about 20+hours a day and every now and then he howls in what seems to be pain but only for about 30 seconds. We know that it is time to let him go but it is hard. He has been with us since he was only a few weeks old.
Sorry to hear. It's bad enough when you know what's wrong, but feeling helpless when they are in distress is an awful feeling. I wish you the best.
Rick sorry to hear about you losing Angus. My wife and I lost our Zoe in February after 14.5 years together. It's been a hard loss for us.
