Speed Limit display on dash

Driving an X3 loaner and the speed limit for the road I’m on is displayed on the instrument panel.
I have a 2016 X5.
Can this be done on my vehicle without coding etc?
The can’t find a thing in the owners manual.

A picture of what you are talking about might help, but if it is what I am thinking, the Central Information Display button (BC) will let you cycle through the displayed items to display speed limit info if your vehicle is equiped with the camera required for the option. US option is 8TH...check your sticker or use the on-line VIN tool: http://bimmer.work/

All else fails....ask the dealer when you pick up yours.

I think possible if: your car is equipped or retrofitted with KAFAS camera, you have custom coding, and you purchase license through bmwna. Cars with lighting package have camera for auto high beams.

something like this?

i think it was an optional extra, but not sure if it can be coded. i believe it requires the connected drive cameras in order for this feature to work.

Have you decoded your VIN to see if you have this option? On my f06...the option code for this feature is: S8THA-Road sign detection. If you're not familiar with any VIN decoding sites...you can use this one...just type in the last 7 digits of your VIN...then scroll down to see if you have the option S8THA.

Click this link to decode your VIN: https://www.mdecoder.com/

Also...the design is slightly different for the USA market vs the Euro market. You can see in TOPEC's reply that the road sign option appears as circular icons in the display. The USA market uses rectangular icons (not sure which type Canada uses):

You need FSC for that.

We use square ones. But you can switch the sign design via coding anyways.

The NA market BMW (USA specifically) equipped with this feature can recognize and display the euro signs as shown in TOPEC’s post #5.
My F16 (American spec) has this feature and while in Germany it would display the euro signs, no coding at all, completely stock.
