Thanks of the update and car looks wayyyy better with the spacers on man. Adds a nice subtle touch. Hoping my custom wheels that have a 15/20mm setup looks as clean hahah

Very happy with the choice to upsize. The sidewall looks so much better now. Thanks again to @JDE92M3 for pointing out the Tirerack deal.

I did a quick test fit, no picture, does need a small spacer in the back. The rear wheels need a little milling (E70M thing).

Happy to help! And what a freakin steal of a deal lol. $8xx shipped that’s wild?! I couldn’t believe it. And the tire looks great and side profile looks substantial. Let us know how the ride is, now I’m even more excited!

The ride is FANTASTIC. I couldn't be happier with the comfort. I would say it "rounds the edge off". I would like to lower it but my wife will probably finally tell me to piss off lmao. Seriously one of the best purchase of tires I've made (because of the price/value)... and I'm a Michelin guy. Panamera Turbo, M3s, M5s, 911 Turbos, they've all had or have Michelins.

That’s even better news so glad it worked out man! And I’m not going to lie I’m loving the tire profile, the girth and I bet that ride is great like you said. And I didn’t want to lose ride comfort either, so when I posed that question on the forums people were against the idea of straying from stock lol. And my wife mainly drives this car as well, so I decided to lower the car with Dinan springs. .6” in front and .75” in the rear. Very subtle, but with my my tire upsize I think it’ll have the ride comfort and the “look.” I’ll keep you guys posted!

BTW the spacers will really make those wheels look very aggressive great choice! It’s funny I posted about these tires on Facebook. And I got comments like “run flat tires on a M?” And I’m like the tires are half price of any other major brand. And I can always try another tire out once I finish through this set. But some people are Michelin or nothing, yet they just need it to drive their vehicle to cars and coffee and back

Some shameless pictures with the M3 & M5. All the cars need a good cleaning. Oops. Gave it a long drive last night. I really like the height and comfort.

Why did you decide to go with a solid non-crossed drilled rotor, instead of the oem rotors?

That's just because I'm a poser and my car is not an ///M lmao. I have Akebono 50i Rotors with 8 Piston Brembo calipers. All the cosmetics are completely X5M though.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but in the market for some new tires, any update for running the 275/315 setup? Any issues?

Another resurrection

Anyone else running these tyre sizes on stock 612M confirm no issues with either rubbing on controls arms or X-drive etc? Family car so a bit more profile would be nice if it doesnt cause any issues.

275/40/21 Diameter 2365
315/35/21 Diameter 2367

I'm about to get new tyres - lowered on Dinan springs with 15mm spacers front and rear.

Just two hours ago, I made a purchase via Tirerack. I went with 275/35-21 fronts and 315/30-21 rears. I probably should have looked at the sizes above, but stuck with the lower profile. The reason for my size change, was so we could go with all season tires. Michelin AS3+ (AS4 units were just introduced and there was no confirmed arrival date). Our Michelin summer tires are down to the wear indicators and I didn't want to wait months to see if the AS4 units showed up.

A lot of owners have gone this route, as All-Season tires are near impossible to get in the 285 and 325 size in 21"

if you don't compensate on the profile when going to a bigger rim don't you disrupt the differential?

if that is the case, going to a bigger rim will decrease the profile and make the ride harsher and have more dented rims and blown tires, especially on heavier vehicles?

further, doesn't wider tires equate to more drag and more road noise?

i thought these were all basic principles? i'm not that knowledgeable.

perhaps i shouldn't have posted?

The tires Zipp22 used are now discontinued, any other recommendations? I have always used Michelin PSS and now PS4 on my vehicles but willing to switch as it will be my wifes daily. 2015 X5M with the same 21's Zipp had. REALLY want the thicker sidewalls, PA roads are killer on low profile wheels.
