UK X5 F15 19 inch Tyre Questions - Need to replace front Bridgestone Dueler Runflats
Hi all
I have poured over the various threads about tyres for a while here and am sorry to say I need to ask a question or two still. I have a 2015 F15 X5 30d Xdrive that has 4x Bridgestone Duelers fitted (255/50 R19s on the front and 285/45 R19s on the rear). The front 255/50 R19 Bridgestone Duelers are running low on tread and I need to replace them and would also like to see if I can improve the ride comfort at all. I find that the existing ride in the X5 to be ok but a bit hard. I used to run the tyres at 36 psi but found it too bouncy so I increased to 38psi in each. On BlackCircles.com, the rating of the Bridgestones isn't great for fuel efficiency or rain performance and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV tyres look better for just a little more money. Do the Goodyear tyres give a better ride for the UK staggered 19 inch wheel on the X5 F15? Also, I have read that putting Goodyears on the front and having Bridgestones on the back isn't an issue (I would plan to replace the rears to match with Goodyears later when needed). Is that true? Thanks |

Hi all,
Does anyone have any thoughts on this one or can you direct me to a relevant post that I have may have missed, please? Really appreciate it. Thanks |

I wouldn't mix tire brands/models. If cost is an issue, I would rather buy 4 cheaper tires than replace more expensive tires 2 at a time. This is from personal experience where a dealer put 2 new Dunlops on the rear of a 330d that had part worn Michelins on the front.
I have no experience with the particular tires you mention, but from what I gather, anything would be better than run-flats. |

generally speaking run flats do ride on the 'rocky' side. Having had Goodyear 'runcraps' and now Michelins, there is no comparison IMO ......
