The lack of call on Charles/Russel was crazy. No need to postpone that call till after the race. Terrible decision. Guessing there was a no call on it because he was taken out of the race anyway.

Sainz stuck himself in a place he wasn't guaranteed. Sainz has made silly decisions in the past assuming that others are going to give him space.

Kimi - well, stupid move, but I understand the mentality. He probably just hadn't practiced that move enough to understand how much lower the grip was going to be. Shame because he was running pretty well other than that.

then Lawson lost control and smacked into Sainz and Sainz got a 10s penalty and 2 demerit points

Kimi completely destroyed Charles car (spending cap etc etc) and gets a 10s penalty and 2 demerit points

i think Johnny Herbert would do better than this crap
I'm biased toward Charlie but there was contact with Russell who came down which forced LEC off track. IMHO LEC wouldn't have ran off track and completed the pass if not for Russell's actions. However, the Marshalls need to man up and make decisions. If there isn't clear and convincing evidence to make a decision without talking to drivers no action should be taken.

I didn't understand the Sainz or Kimi penalties either

I don't like time penalties but drive throughs seem too harsh.

I also don't like penalties carrying over to the next race.

didn't stop the Sainz getting a 10s penalty! (ie when Lawson crashed into him)

Sainz said later the team asked that Sainz would speak to stewards to give his side of the story but the stewards did not want to speak with them!

The Sainz penalty was ill judged even after Lawson admitted he didn't even notice SAI was challenging when told on the radio. Carlos for some reason has become an easy target for stewards for the minutest of challenges, there was a gap.

Sainz penalty was definitely the most idiotic.

I don't even know if Kimi should have gotten a penalty. He came in too hot and washed up. Isn't that just part of racing

Happens all the time in A$$CAR with no penalty

Every year they move further and further away from racing. It's hardly racing anymore, especially in a year where no one is developing the cars. It beyond lame...as I've said, lame duck WDC this year without question. After seeing the closest racing in F1 history in 2022, 2023, & 2024, it has gone back to such margins that make it a 1 car race. It is wasnt for Nor's DNF, that would have been what 6 back to back 1-2 finishes. Tells you how good that car is vs the RB which wasnt nearly that good, and more akin to the MB with their insane hp advantage.

As much as I enjoy F1, I do think they need to go more to a spec car to promote what they have been trying to do and did during the first years of this reg cycle - close racing with a tight field where your driver showcases what they can do. Unfortunately, we are no longer there.

It wasn't that long ago people were bragging about how close the field was (historically), but whenever a team rises above the rest, the call goes out for needed change while others say they can't watch it. This happpens particularly among those when it's not their team/drivers doing well.
Meanwhile, FOM sees a different problem...their target audience has no attention span or interest in strategies...

"Shorter races, MotoGP-style sprints and reverse grids are all "on the agenda" for F1"!..

Got this sad feeling that many here are of this opinion. I'm part of the fan group that the weekend's schedule "builds" on steps to an exciting finish with the race. Three days of sitting in the stands on race weekend I find just so enjoyable.

tired of free practice? I'm tired of the free stewards! i think they need someone like Masi who will make calls on the spot as it happens, but without influence from team principals calling him directly.

can they make cars that don't break so easily, maybe make them smaller and more solid. and stuff ground effect and aero, bring back the old mechanical grip.

also electrification is not the main issue. the main issue is the race is so boring!
