Earlier today, Verstappen and his team mate Chris Lulham have won the NLS 4-hour race with their Ferrari 296 GT3. It was their maiden race. They went for gold from the get-go.

They beat Christian Krognes, the Nürburgring pro driver who still holds the lap record clocked in 2022 ...for now.

Max clocked the fastest lap of all 108 competing cars: 7:51.514, close to the lap record (7:49.578).

usually lap records are set during qualifying when the fuel is low and the tyres are new. his lap was set during the race. so expect more lower time in ideal conditions. or maybe fuel and tire doesn't matter as much at the Ring 24h config due to it being such a long "lap". most lap records are like around the 1 min mark where fuel and tire probably makes more difference. but there should still be a difference if everything is ideal. inc no cars blocking.

Verstappen went straight for the kill: P3 to P1 in the first corner and that was it + fastest lap (lap 5).

Max Verstappen has just said they are looking at changing from Ferrari 296 GT3 to Porsche 911 GT3 R - verstappen dot com are currently in talks with Porsche - probably for marketing contracts?? not sure why you need to talk otherwise - just buy the car?

If Porsche is prepared to give Team Verstappen its GT3 cars + spare parts as quid pro quo for free publicity, improving its chances to get top results thanks to Team Verstappen with Max as brand ambassador: why not ?

Max is not only interested in the Nürburgring 24h race, but very likely also in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
