I see this all to often and i just can't understand it. Most people have no idea what an M is and the ones that do know, will think you are a FOOL. Who is one trying to impress in these cases?

Back when I had F10 535i Msport i had a situation. It was new, modded with a catless DP and a few blacked out bits. Pretty tame but dressed up. It was closing time, we were outside of a club and i was waiting for my car. When the valet pulled it up, it was a little loud but not at all ricey, just cattless dps. I WASN'T thinking in my head. "I'm a boss, wait till this pulls up" bc I'm not really like that and even if i were, I honestly wasn't that impressed or happy with the car, actually, it was a really disappointing car coming from the n54 335i. There was a group of guys within an earshot snickering when it pulled up and sarcastically saying "fugazi M5" among themselves, mind you, I wasn't trying to say it was an M5 at all.. no extra badges. So in my head i was like "jealous pricks".. of course they had an M5 pull up shortly after, that shit on my car lol.. Multi-piece wheels, wrapped the whole 9 yards. Now, they were being dickheads and this is an extreme example but I guess in a way i was trying to make a lower tier 5 series look like an M and when someone with an actual M saw it they dismissed it.

I guess the point of me writing that crap story is, if you don't have the engine to back it up then sooner or later you'll get called out and it may or may not end up in you walking away feeling like a fugazi if you dressed your car up. I would never shit on a car to make them feel bad but i do laugh inside when I see the extra M badge not because i think Ms are so great and non Ms are inferior but because someone is being SOOOO Fugazi it baffles me.

I would never understand this nonsense... just do you if you really want an M then work hard for it simple.

Crazy part is my actual M has 0 badges I hate them, I've always been a fan of the clean look.

but i did loom up and they have 523 hp ish so still good hp

Funny, same thing happened to me last week at a car wash. Two guys were chatting about my car. "Is it a M?" "Yes I think so. Just like mine, but I think its a 2020." Lol. Looked outside and he has a G05 M40i. I didn't even bother correcting them.
