Dinan exhaust valve rattle

Hi all. I tried searching but didn't find anything. Is it normal for the Dinan exhaust fart cannon valves to rattle upon cold start? Mine rattle like a newly wed car leaving the venue??

I had my springs tightened and it went away, but is actually starting to happen again. Dinan support is quite good and I would recommend reaching out to them and asking for help.

Valves and spring are transferred over from oem. It's an 18 with 44k miles. Just replaced the springs and solved it. Now I'm thinking I should have just removed the springs and pinned the valves open. I don't think I ever want them closed 🤣🤔

Two yrs and maybe 20kmi on it, but it has been doing this since new. First fix was tightening the springs so maybe that needs to be done again or new springs.

Ah I didn't know that they were transferred from the OEM unit, good to know.

And agreed about pinning them open! I hate the one second wait and then forcing the flaps open during a cold start!

Your flaps open during cold start?? Mine don't….wonder if my valves are shot 🤔.

Even more reason to take the springs out and pin them open ha. Not worth buying 2 new valves at $125 each

Dinan has very good customer service. You should be able to have your issue resolved. Agree with new springs. Or you can just keep the valves open all the time.

No you have to open them. I programmed M2 for them to open 👍 amongst a few other settings.

Agreed and I'd suggest this to others as well 👍

I did too, I only use sports/+. I use BM3 to have it open the valves in that mode. However it's not right now. I'm going to reflash and see. Anyone know of the valves are on their own fuse? Maybe I have a fuse issue….?

You have to touch the pedal for flaps to open after you select sport mode. Fuse is 146.
