F15 x50i O2 Sensor Replacement - Fair Price?
Hi Folks,
Just got news after bringing my x50i into the shop due to a check engine light and O2 related fault codes, that one O2 sensor has to be replaced due to "rodent damage." The estimate: a whopping $778.66 for parts and labor. Does this seem like an outrageous estimate to anyone else? Or am I just naive? Not to mention that it seems extremely convenient to me that a car which would otherwise have it's parts covered by warranty has rodent damage... but I'll leave that alone for now. Where in SoCal are you?
If you are close to me, I can take care of it. $700 is way too much.

I'm in Santa Monica. I really appreciate you offering that, I will definitely look at taking you up on the offer in the future. In this case, I ended up just getting my insurance involved because there was additional damage and my deductable is only $500. Update here as well, it was definitely a rodent issue (see attached). I used to live in the woods in the Northeast and never ran into this stuff with field mice... damn city rats.
