Question One of My Keyfobs Not Responding...

Hey guys! So I haven't started many threads here because our xDrive50i has been absolutely superb since getting it last May. Damn! Been almost a year.
Anywho... So today, the car won't respond at all to one of the fobs. No unlock or lock even while next to it nor will it start the car. It seems to be too soon for the battery to have drained. And usually when it does, it is gradual: less distance required to work.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Marcus

You try changing the battery?

For starting...did you try holding the non working remote up to the icon on the steering column so that the aerial can attempt to read the remote's encryption?

For the lock/unlock features...as asked already...did you check the battery in the nonworking remote?

As I said above, I figured it is too soon for the battery to be drained. I'll replace it anyway and report back...

Thanks for the relies.

Thanks for the follow up...glad it was something simple.

Which reminds me...daylight saving time is just around the corner...so its time for me to prepare to swap my key fobs out of the kitchen drawer. I use the spring & fall DST changeover as the time to swap my key fobs...the unused ones stored in the kitchen drawer...will now get used until the fall time changeover where the fobs get swapped again. This keeps me aware of any battery discharge as well as evens the wear (aka "patina") of the remote fobs.

Make sure you don't buy "aftermarket/cheap" ones. Mine got drained in 5 months or so, whereas the "genuine" one has no issue.

Energizer for me.

This particular battery was not as simple to remove as other Bimmer fobs. Thought I was gonna break something. Not sure why they decided to place that lower bracket to hold the battery in SMH.

Interesting. I am having a similar problem but with both key fobs and the app. I am going to create a new post to see if anyone has any ideas.
