Ceramic Front Brake Pads for F85 X5M ?

Brake dust is unbearable! Does anyone know if these exist? If so, who make them and please share part #'s. I will never buy Carbotech for the street again so please save that suggestion.

F10 M5 guys have some good reviews on them. But they only make rear pads for F85.

Sadly the fronts are the relevant pads.

m5 calipers are the same as X5M just different brackets so i bet the pads would fit. wish there was an easy way to test this out.

The X5m has slightly different pad shapes on the front. Found this out when I tried to use some carbotech pads for an m5. The calipers are the same, but the rotors are slightly bigger on the X5m and thus the pads are slightly wider. The length and thickness is the same but it is a little wider to cover the larger rotor. You could run m5 pads, but there will be about 3/4 inch of rotor that won’t be swept (area closest to hub).

If you used F85 pads on them it wouldn't cover but it would cover completely going the other way around. the M5 rotors are only 5mm in radius wider (395 vs 405) which would be about .2" which isn't significant by any means. Which makes me curious! Lol

Those would probably eat the soft BMW rotors. I ordered the EBC's and will let y'all know how it turns out. I felt like the F10 M5 caliper were the same ( didn't know but looked the same) but BMW and the local Bimmer shops said the pad was different. Size of the F85 rotor makes that make sense.

Ah perfect. Why do you think the poi's centric would eat through the F85 rotor? I was thinking of ordering both the EBC pads and front rotors as they're hella cheaper and a decent brand.

EBC pads and rotors is a great idea.

Had an F10 M5 prior to this X5M. I purchased CarboTech pads 1st for it and they were junk IMHO. Huge waste of a lot of $$ for a terribly loud, cheap looking pad (rattled around in the caliper over any bump). Put PowerStop ceramics (they don't make a pad for the F85 from what I can find) on it and loved them! I feel the BMW stock rotors are "soft" and semi-metallic would chew them up. No personal experience with it, just my thoughts.

I was told the OEM's are carbon-metallic, hence why they dust sooooo much!

Too bad BMW did not see fit to offer full carbon ceramics on this truck. Had them on my Cayenne and they were amazing. One of the most noticeable differences between this X5M and my Cayenne. Big difference in brake performance and cleanliness of the front wheels.

FYI, EBC part #DP32091C is the wrong pad for the F85 XM5. Sending my order back today.

Lol of course. Rotors too or just the pads? I'm assuming they're for the E70 X5M. Did they just send you the wrong stuff or do they actually not carry pads for the F85/86 which is what I'm assuming since for whatever reason no one makes shit for those brakes. Which I woulda known that before buying them over the MPBK.
